Philby, These types of debates or arguments never go anywhere. They won't change your way of thinking and they won't change mine. Unlike some people here I have better things to do than spend my time racking up hundreds of posts about silly crap like politics on a site that is supposed to be about music. You did answer mine so I will return the courtesy.
Should there be accountability for a president that brings us to war, when his reasons for doing so don't add up?
Yes and Obama will most likely be punished for it!
Should we pay MORE for private contractors in a war-time situation than we would for our own armed forces personnel?
No!
Should corporations be allowed to donate to the campaigns of our gov't officials?
No and the unions shouldn't be able to either!
Should any news program be allowed to lie & call it "news?"
No and Congress is defunding one of them as we speak!
Should a co that has been bailed out by the American taxpayers be allowed to invest & to grow by expanding its manufacturing overseas, while cutting American jobs?
No!
Should a company be allowed to sell potentially dangerous products to our ppl without being heavily fined &/or paying damages to those it hurt, when those products prove to be harmful or even fatal?
No!
Should a company that has a virtual monopoly in any given area be allowed to charge whatever it pleases for a service or a product, no matter how necessary that service or product may be for the good of the ppl, or should there be a cap placed on what they can charge?
No!
Should a co be given the same rights as a person?
Not sure what that means?
Should a co's personnel be held criminally accountable when they perform criminal acts against the citizens of the USA?
Yes! What type of punishment? If the liberal judges across the nation are are giving child molesters free rides what type of punishment do we give these exec's? Take away their credit cards?
I see that we're in agreement on nearly everything we've discussed, Mike...even to the point that unions shouldn't be able to donate to campaigns.
Obama's actions in Libya ARE questionable. See this:

As for what kind of punishment the corp officials should reveive, I'd say that it should be, at the very least, equal in measure & affect to any private citizen whose actions cause harm to others. However, Monsanto is requiring anyone who buys their newer products to sign a waiver, releasing them from any & all liability from the hazards & damages their products may cause. I'm not sure how that would stand up in court, but from the actions of our courts concerning this & other corp entities, I fear that it may stand very well on its own questionable merits.
These are not "liberal" or "conservative" problems, though, Mike. I would hope that you could see that the actions of BOTH parties have far removed themselves from the interest of the American ppl, & concentrated on the interest of the few. The only real difference is which few their interests lie with. The corruption of our gov't is of prime concern for me & mine.
The news that we receive is ALL, save for NPR & their ilk, funded by, & slanted for, corp interests. I welcome the balance that NPR provides, to a degree. Honestly, I'm finding it harder by the day to accept ANYTHING I hear or read at all, unless it's about Charlie Sheen...& even that is questionable...
