Not metal but I finally figured out the issue causing the bad recordings. It was a combination of things. Which are now fixed. Though now my voice comes out a little too loud. Will adjust the settings a bit for the next recording. Though considering the other recordings its far cleaner. I see some on the forums care not for this style. However, that's fine. They do what they do. And I'll always do what I do. And we will all do it regardless.

Blutengel was the last of 7 that I did. All the while trying to track down the mic issues across songs.

Blutengel - Winter Of My Life (overlay)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6Tu3E4kFhk

The below songs still have this flaw additional to some I just recorded along with my speakers (rather than an overlay).

So only listen if you care to get an idea of my voice.

And I do talk a bit at the beginning of this one. Ignore the silly ramble. It was my first recording of the day. And always either the 1st or 2nd song I do seems to me, to sound the best. (well as far as my vocals)

Skillet - Monster (speaker)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9-Hn-PVme8

Iron Maiden - Powerslave (speaker)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxcMwaadLeI

Decided to toss this one in even though its a bit horrible.

Amon Amarth - Gods Of War Arise (overlay) (but really crappy -lol-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8CqBYCUxho

Yes all the ones with a black image were all done the same day. Did about 7 songs. Around what I do for practice. Nothing faster pace really. As I do not know too many songs with faster paces. At least well enough to not stumble. Slower ones I can read along and do. I can try and learn the lyrics to a faster song. Though who knows how it'll suck -lol-

Did this one just a moment ago for fun. I used a bit of processing. From downshifting the gains on my voice, to adding a room effect, as well as removing the original vocals to the song. So only my voice can be heard.

Six Feet Under - Ghost Of The Undead

Unsolicited reply. Why waste time with all of these covers? Why not pursue your own thing? And the growling thing is so played out. Find your own voice.

He asked me at one point to post something with a better recording. So hardly unsolicited. Though thank you for the reply. They are practices not covers. As for the latter on growling, to each their own. May you find happiness within your day.

P.S. I am not trying to work with anyone. I have much to grow still in what I wish. This is merely for criticism and show. Saying growls are bad is hardly a critique. If one does not care for it. That's fine =). Not everyone liked rock n roll when it was around either (parents aka "devil's music"). We all enjoy what we like. Now if you could critique me on how I am using it. And how to better it, then that would be appreciated. If you can not, then I guess that is where my responses to you would end.

Daniel, your right everybody has different tastes when it comes to music. I've played a lot of classic/rock and blues on stage but my most successful bands have been metal/hardcore/metal. My new band is booking a lot of shows for not being a popular style of music. Check out the short sample of "Spread Your Wings Demo" that I just put up. Keep at it!

Hey Mike. Nice song when I first started hearing it, it reminded me of Atreyu. Sample of Atreyu >> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IN1OYVJ82yw. And thank you for the encouragement. Hopefully my practices will develop my style. "I have to start from the base before I can expand". Is how I think. Though I find myself more into industrial metal, symphonic black, darkwave, late 70's-80's music. So I find myself listening to bands like Psyclon Nine, Aural Vampire, Merzadeh, Heart. By no means is that a limited list, just some examples of forms. I love vocals. Though I love when the music in itself seems to flow across the words. To a point you don't see the music in two parts (vocals, instruments). Rather a combined entity moving across the air. For me this mesh has yet to happen with my own vocals. But I don't plan to stop. Additionally listened to your other uploads. Really got into some of it. Got really into a variety of music from my parents. They used to have this clutter of records (probably still do) packed into a closet. Got to listen to bands like Jethro Tull, Demons and Wizards, CCR, Led Zepplin, list goes on. My first experiences with metal came from Iron Maiden. I just think that older metal had more of a soul. The newer stuff I don't feel it has one so much. Like they have lost their way. I may be odd but I have often played a older metal song. Along with a current metal song. Playing them together. Or even an old rock song with a current metal song. Maybe I am just creating noise. Keep up the amazing work.

Just keep at it Daniel. I don't put up much of my band stuff with screaming or growling. The old timers find it offensive  I just put up another sample from some stuff we are working on in the studio. It's called memisis.

Mike and Daniel, to clarify I don't mind some of the new metal vocals, especially when bands try do something new with it. I would like to hear your original stuff when it's ready. My point was, there are so many bands doing the growling thing, why not try to do your own thing.

I was just giving you a hard time Jimmy. I'm the Jekyll and Hyde of the board. I have to keep up my bad boy image ya know. I like playing it all though from hardcore to blues and just performed some classic/rock/blues stuff at a show recently.

Well for me that will be a long time from now. Practice, and lots more practice. And yes Mike's stuff was really great. And no worries about the growling bit. Its just not going to happen from me (at least not yet). I am not exactly at a proper stage to evolve (in my mind that is). So getting down techniques from others via emulation .. is what I'm focusing on. Maybe one day I can develop something other. Mike do you have any samples to toss up with more of like a black metal type feel to it? Or is it mostly like the supplied sample?
