This seems very underhanded and sneaky. That is my property not his.
The contract signing has been delayed many times and is getting to look a little hinky.
What do you think?[/b]

First off from a business standpoint this so called labe owner shouldnt have possesion of your music to begin with, until you have something signed.

If you have some songs then just copywrite them, Put them all together on one cd and send it to the library of congress and get them copywrited.

If you are a serious songwriter then you should do this anyway if you ever want to make money off your music.

Be proactive not reactive.

More than likely nothing will come of it anyway.

Good Luck

Everything I write is copyrighted, that goes without saying. Many people have access
to the music that work with the label. They have to because they are involved in different ways with the music.
My point is he didn't give me the comon courtesy of asking permission
to play my music to someone at that level. It screams disrespect.

The project I am involved in will probably be his first meaningful
sucess as a label. This is not the way to treat an asset or someone
who is writing for you. We are very close to signing a contract with
him and he's acting like the music belongs to him already. We will be
having dinner with him Sat. night and this will come up. It's not that
he did it. It's when he did it. It's not his music yet. I'm not his artist yet.[/b]

If you have everything copy writed then I wouldnt wory about it so much, on the flip side I dont know why he wouldnt at least tell you who he forwarded it too. Thats just common courtesy.
