No Bob, it's more like the difference between Cadillacs and Corvettes; both are awesome but each better for different applications. I use the Strat more because it is more versatile, the LP sound more specialized. I hope I'm making sense.

You've never played MY Les Pauls!
I trick the sh*t out of them. But, then again, they're only copies. I'd never f**k up a real one.

Ha! You've never played mine either. I have a '79 reissue of a '59 LP Limited that has a locking nut, Wonderbar tremelo and super wound EMGs. This is the ultimate heavy metal machine! I also have a 2000 Crimson Sparkle LP Standard (only 400 were made that year) that I intend to leave stock.

Cadillacs and Corvettes are both GM products. I guess we know which auto company you prefer...

Believe it or not, I love the 1st one (The Silverburst Studio) the best! Imagine that. They put the most awesome pickups in this thing and the feel of the neck is incredible("This Les Paul Studio Guitar shares the same quality electronics as some of its more expensive siblings. The Gibson 490R pickup has the tonal characteristics of an original PAF, but with a slight increase in upper mid-range response. The Gibson 498T bridge pickup is the 490 pickup's ideal complement. Taking the 490 one step further, the 498 swaps the Alnico II magnet with an Alnico V, thus making it a slightly hotter pickup with emphasis on mid-ranges and highs.")...this thing screams! I use that along with my PRS the most at my shows!

Oh... and I'm gettin' a Gold Top soon!

I really like the silver burst. That looks so good.

I have a cherry burst and a 50's tobacco burst. The silver one would look great along side of them. What do ya say? Deal? :)

JW, I know exactly what you are saying. I have a few bang around acoustics.
I have one junk bass.
I have one old LP custom I have had for 35 years, dinged , banged , notched, worn beyond belief. He ain't heavy, he's my brother.

Any time I get a chance to play out , the first question is how do you get that tone. Not from effects.

Just and old friend that I am great full for.

Sorry sounds silly, great guitars never die. They just get banged up a bit more.
