No. Klugmo. AV is definitely NOT a complainer. He''s a good giu who.s been here off & on for a long time. He has had music up in the past...but like you did, once or twice, he took it down. Perhaps he's updating...& venting, a bit. Nothing that any of us haven't done.

AV - I didn't take it too personally, really, to be truthful. I just took advantage of the post to tell a funny story.

When I go to band practice, I don't just talk music there, either. We catch up on our lives, our interests, & sh*t that's buggin' us. In one of those bands I was in, those convos turned into songs, sometimes, to my horror (I hate political songs, but I played some of them anyway). :We, The People" is an example of that.

Yeah, sometimes the forum gets all jumbled in non-music stuff (in fact, quite frequently), but to me, that just says that we are all trying to stay aware of the world around us, which is a huge part of being artists & *gasp* human beings.

I'm not in a good mood today. I'm ready to rip somebody a new one.
Bad news concerning my wife.

I'm sorry. I hadn't noticed that you had left.

Are you trying to brow beat people into only posting what you want?

It'll never work. We are people first and musicians second. Politics and world events have always been linked to music. I read most of the posts and have no problems with what others are posting. In fact, there are a lot of interesting things to be found in non musical posts.

A lot of video links without any description are a bit boring for me since I can't stream video. Even if I could I suppose I wouldn't follow them unless there was something telling me what they were about. Other than that, I can't see a problem with Bandmix. And that's only my problem, not anyone else's.

Bandmix far is more interesting than many other sites where music only posts show little traffic. And because general discussion is not limited to music posts only, we get to know a bit about each other. That makes Bandmix a bit more personal. Could that be why it is called general discussion? Hmmmmmm..... Perhaps.

Sorry AV but I have to concur a little with Klugmo. You seem to be making it a big issue that we musicians and artists aren't talking enough music for YOU.
Again, we would all love to have more music related things to talk about, but in case you haven't noticed hardly any of us are gigging regularly and many aren't gigging at all.
We are not juke boxes. We have minds and think of other things that effect us and I for one don't have a problem with that... who the hell wants to constantly shop talk?

Music topics would be nice.
However, there is usually just rants and raves.
Stories are cool dont get me wrong, and its even better to hear a story about someone on the road. But when we just sit in here and debate politics, and attack each other, it gets us no where, and surely isnt music related.

I come in here every once in a while and try to get a music thread going, but no one replies, they are more interested about what someone they dont even like said.

I've been here for a while, and it's been the same thing for years. Guys, honestly, if there is something wrong on the internet, then its just a normal day. By replying to things you think are wrong, you jut encourage them to do it again. It would be nice if people acted their age on this site.

I would really like to discuss music with fellow musicians, but I cant find a site to do that in. Everyone is too self righteous and all knowing to say anything helpful. It would be nice if this site was different.

Here here! I think a lot of the bickering could be toned down by offering 2 non specific categories...General Chat: Music, and General Chat: Everything else.

Yo AirViking! I'm always down for a musical conversation. I think the majority of my threads have to do with music most of the time. If you want to talk music, then you need to come in and contribute also. 99% of the time most of the people who come here frequently will respond.

So quit complainin' and start talkin'! I'm so kidding bro.

I'm all ears for anything anyone is willing to teach me about music

hmm... I guess this thread was a bad idea because some people just think I'm a complainer.
That wasnt my goal at all, and I guess it pains some people to talk about music on a bandsite. Go figure

KLUGMO:
Yeah Im not taken seriously on most music sites yet because of my age and only playing for 6 years. But I know my way around the fretboard better than most the people putting me down, so it doesnt affect me much anymore.

I ws glad to see that most of you guy have some years on me, that meant I would be able to learn from your guys' either mistakes, or great experiences, that you've had (and I have learned quite a bit from you guys :) )

Hayden King:
I understand that, and I even state that i like stories. But when I come in here and I see that not much in the way of music has been added for some time now it's kinda just like any other chat room.

My real question now is: why is it such a bad thing to want to talk music with fellow musicians?

I think most musicians DO enjoy talking about music. There are both times of plenty and lean times in a musicians life. We just all don't always have something to say during our dry spells. Music threads are followed and contributed to. When all is said, people go back to other things that affect their lives.

We all have other interests. I think non musical posts are far better than having a board dry up as some have, with no posts at all. When all this unemployment started there were a good many musicians out there on all the boards. Then as if over night, a good many of them simply disappeared.

But the brighter side of those non musical posts is this. It may keep musicians reading and hanging around until they have some inspiration and get creative. It gives people something to do when they aren't feeling particularly creative.

This post made me realize just how lost I am in music right now. I cant find the drive to make a song I like, or to put good riffs together.

Hey Phil you must be a pretty good typer. I was wondering what is a "giu". and then I realized your finger stretch was weak, I, U ,Y are all right next door. To turn this into a most important musical thread remember not to do that if you stretch from f to a, or e to a. See ya buddy! :)

Hey, Glen - yer lucky to be able to read ANYTHING I type, cuz most of the letters are worn off my keyboard, & sometimes my proof-reading is a lil off.

Hey Prevost,
We are in a stall right now due to the board of directors
stopping all recording until all are under contract. We hope to
resume when that has been completed. Maybe 2 weeks. The
Founder has been expanding into other areas and working on web
sites and distribution contacts as well as 23 contracts. The lead
guitar player and I have been staying busy with preproduction.
