Storm aftermath...it WAS a huge storm. One of the worst Winter storms since I have lived in KC (1987). VERY cold and windy snowstorm. I spent about four hours at the height of the storm shoveling a large chunk of the parking lot, as usual. The neighbors think I'm a machine. They're right...

16 degrees here this morning with a high of 27.
Expect 18 degrees tonight, with no temp above freezing through the weekend.
Possible sleet and snow starting tomorrow evening.

Nothing like what your experiencing Bob.
But damn cold for this part of the country.

The power companies are doing a "revolving brown out" turning off sections of the "grid" in fifteen minute increments.

It's closing businesses and damaging electronics.

What will these bastards do if we have a real emergency like what you guys are getting.

Some executive heads need to roll.

Everything is relative. People there are NOT used to such cold temps. My parents live in Florida and are freezing at 60 degrees. If it's forty degrees lower than what your body is used to it's FREEZING cold, no matter where you live. The storm this week was massive. I hate to see what something like that would do in May. Hundreds of tornadoes would come out of a storm that size in Spring.
