you guys might laugh at me but....
for those who remember my wrestling with what to get for my next guitar effect setup..
I ended up with a BOSS GT-8: an amazing piece of electronics to be sure.
A little too much , I found actually.
Sold on ebay..and I have finally found my new rig...

A very familiar set of buttons & color scheme...

ZOOM 4040!

I played a ZOOM 2020 for years, and got so comfy with creating/tweaking patches that I came to really miss that level of speed & comfort since she died & went to pedalboard heaven.

This new (vintage) guy is it's big brother, and has some really cool stuff.
Don't get me wrong, it can't compete with a BOSS GT-anything in terms of potential sonic gadgetry, but it feels like a old worn nicely-fitting glove.
My 1987 RG-550 likes it just fine.

I like Zoom stuff. It's the best bang for the buck. I hope it's more road-worth than their lower end products.

I kinda regret selling my old Zoom pedal. The cheesier effects were just too good.

yeah, the reverb is horribly digital..

but it's got a cool exp pedal which is very easily assigned to make the whole thing play a 2nd/5th/octave up/down, not to mention a ton of other things .

The GT-8 was fully capable of that stuff, and much more but the zoom just made it so darn easy to do!
