Texting is awesome for the real quick impersonal questions. I mean, compare these:

"Hello?"
"Hey, it's me"
"Oh hey, what's up man?"
"Yeah, you know that old lawnmower of yours? the one that's on it's last leg?"
"Oh yea, the one my wife hates - the one that throws rocks and almost took out her dog"
"hahahaha"
"hahahhaha"
"yeah, that one!"
"Dude, that was soo funny"
"Think she'll ever forgive me for breaking her window"
"All I can say, flowers. bring flowers"

.... 10 minutes later

"So yeah, you know that lawnmower? can I borrow?"
"of course - why?"

... 10 minutes later

"well, yah, you bring up some great points about that lawn mower, but really, I just want to borrow it".

WHEREAS TEXTING IS LIKE THIS AND CAN SPAN THE DAY CUZ YOU READ AND REPLY TO TEXTS WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT. No, "you hang up first - no, you hang up first, no you hang up first ...."

"Yo, cn I brw ur mowr? pu tomorrow at 3?"

"ya. y?"

"cuz"

"whatever. k. l8r"

it's too late to save the Engrish language in the U.S. Too many factors involved. if you want to enjoy proper English, pick up some books written earlier in the century. If you want to be able to communicate with people in 10 years, you're gunna need 2 learn how 2 dum down.

They shut up and play their instrument.
They'll never make it that far if they don't call first.

I run my own business and don't have a cel phone. Gave them up a couple years ago. I hate them. People call when you are working, you stop, shut off equipment, then hear, hey man what's up? we're going to hit the bar for all you can eat wings tonight, you in?

I do book a lot of my work by email though. I prefer it because then I have it in print, in case something comes up. I doubt I will ever own a cel phone again though

I saw a 4th grade English test from 1900 that I doubt any one of us could pass, let alone our kids!

Even though kids are using a lot of technological slang, it's still no excuse not to know how to spell your own language. Homework can be done using spell check. Almost all programs have it. Resources for learning are abundant. If you need to find out the meaning, or spelling of a word, then you can simply do a web search on it.

Maybe learning doesen't have enough discipline these days. Is knowledge too accessible? Or has it just been taken for granted?

I'm thinking people have too many distractions in this world we live in. Aside from daily routines, there's too much to be entertained by. Too much entertainment breaks down willpower. It's hard to keep a balance these days.

Shame on me, for mental negligence. The mind is a muscle...use it or lose it! I know I have a lot of catching up to do.

Boy writes a letter to God. "Dear God, why do you let bad things happen in our schools?" God replied "Dear Son, I am not allowed in your schools."

I have never seen God and I have never talked to him or Buddha, however God is really really old and needs to shave and Buddha is fat and ugly so at this time I worship my beautiful wife..........and her boobs. If God or Buddha come around they are more than welcome to a cup of coffee and a little chit chat.
