Great track, Jimmy and Paul.
One of my favorite songs. Just love the changes. Hendrix was very cool.

Holy moly! Awesome Paul. I noticed you slowed it down a hair; how did you do that? I love the harmonies.

I hope you don't mind the tempo change. I used audacity to slow the tempo on the body of the song. I left the intro and the outré alone. Highlights for me are "when I'm sad", other harmonies, and the phrasing and melody changes. Did you notice the wurli? I put it pretty low in the mix. It really is just a fattening agent. You cant really pick up pn it except in spots, but when removed it makes a big difference. Ive been asked to bump it up in the mix. I'm considering it. Thoughts? I'm really happy with the track bro!! Thanks!

No I don't mind, it makes it very dramatic. Wurli as in organ? I hadn't noticed but I can't play it loud here at work. I'll crank it later at home. I think it turned out great but I'd be interested to hear an alternate mix. As always, feel free to use this any way you choose!

Wurlitzer 200a electric piano. The black one I brought to your place. I think I will post an alternate mix. Post again once you've been able to really listen to the mix at home. :D

OK that sounds good.

What was the other Hendrix song you played at my house? Castes Made of Sand? I remember you did a very cool version. Do you have a recording of it?

Thanks Jimmy. Hendrix has so many songs to cover. I break my 1 cover per artist rule for him. I really love gypsy eyes!! I hope to cover that one day too. My old band from the early nineties used to do that one. We had a MONSTER guitarist.

Great job, I really like the symmetrical split lower left upper octave right. The mix seemed a little gritty, Neanderpaul usually your mixes are crystal clear, but I assuming the original was mp3 and it had to be recompressed. I was listening for them, but I didn’t hear any keys. I’m assuming they would be stereo, mine naturally pan somewhere near 30/30 and if the split vocals are around that area? In either case excellent performance by both you guys, great playing Jimmy. “I Think I Love You” , was really good too Neaderpaul.

Several things about your post make me wonder if your audio is somehow messed up. 1 I think is more crisp especially the vox thank anything I've posted before. So the gritty comment is kind of baffling. 2. the vocals are doubled so there are 2 lead vox and 2 harmony vox full pan 1 in each ear. 3. The track I got from Jimmy is a wav.

The Wurlitzer is an actual electric instrument with reeds and a pickup. It is only stereo if doubled. I did one track and left it centered. It is very subtle in the mix but when I dropped it out it was very apparent.

Sometimes if you have your overall volume on the computer all the way up and the player volume down it can cause a distortion.perhaps there is something going on with your audio? Can you listen on another computer? I definitely appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

Hey Jim,

I found an open copy of Fruited Other Surfaces and remixed my track for Bandmix. No guitars or drums were harmed in the making of this track.

Did you want me to bring the compilation CD or one of the tapes? :?
