Cons:
- Too much with the lightning licks
- A lot of musical cliches
- It was way too long.
Pros:
- It wasn't as sloppy as all that. Not sloppy, really.
- You didn't cave under the pressure of a stupid situation.
- There was plenty of showmanship
- You stayed right in the "eighties" mode, start to finish.
I think the pros outweigh the cons. And the crowd apparently agreed.
But it coulda been a disaster and your band owes you big time!
Having said all this, I wouldn't have been above doing much the same thing to you if you were in my band. Especially if I thought you tended to underestimate your own playing.
