General Music Chat

Just an observation.... Sooo many posts about peeps leaving... fighting with each other... Name calling, etc... My main site is FB... I just come here once a day to just see what's going on and give a little info on whatever project I'm in... Some of you guys are definitely stroke material if you don't stop for a second and realize IT'S JUST CYBERSPACE!!. Chill the fuk out! Why are you taking this so damn seriously? This site will continue on... No one really cares if you stay or leave as there are sooo many other more important obstacles in our own personal lives to contend with so nobody really gives a rat's ass if you stay or go so what's the reason for announcing it? I've learned never to take the negative to heart and really I dont care what anyone here thinks of me... You're not hanging with me or my family... You're not coming to my gigs and having a drink with me... I most likely will never see any one of you guys (except Glen, who live only a few miles from me).. STOP FREAKING OUT OVER THIS SITE..... it's just the internet... you can ignore whatever you want... you can just not post for a few months (as I did) to take a breather if it's not fun! There's so much more in life than to bring up your blood pressure over a site!

After all this time, I still wonder how/why some folks just seem to darn angry with everyone else.
Folks go from "good morning" to "#@$% you & yours!" in a nanosecond.

Also, I can't believe the level of gross pix & such we've seen lately that some are using to make points.

Much more of that crap and I'm considering bailing myself, which would suck because I've enjoyed chatting with many of you.
(I'm predicting a "ok @#-wad good riddance comeback)

Maybe I'm the whacko because I honestly don't give a flying fuk what's on this site or who says what about me... What's so freakin' hard about moving on to another topic if you don't care for a particular one that offends you? Does it reallly get to you that hard that you'd consider leaving?? HUH?? I just don't get it ... How do people allow someone that you've never met in your whole life, affect one to the point of leaving a music site! FUK DAT! i'm in charge of what I want to read or not and if I don't like a certain post..*click*.... No biggie.... I'm more worried about real life....my family....my job...my bills...my band... who gives a damn about what someone posts? Peeps actually take posts to heart so bad that they kill themselves! It's amazing how, in such short time, the home computer has changed peoples' emotions, mental and physical health so drastically! Remember when there weren't any computers?? The only way I'd be affected by someone would be by actual contact... Oh well... back to work...

I would think if you are a true musician you would have thicker skin than a potato! I cant even begin to think about how many rejections and negative comments Ive had thrown my way about my music thru the years, Yet Im a club war surviver.

Drama queens.

The irony is I'm the one diagnosed with mental health issues and am typically very sensitive and withdrawn. Maybe I can distinguish reality from cyberspace better than the guys having a tantrum here.

It seams to me that the way people are here is indicative of
family interaction. Maybe not everyones family, but a lot.
When I see someone bickering I smile actually because it shows
passion for the subject. I admire people here who will stand alone
in their belief, right or wrong. If you are not comfortable disagreeing
with someone then you need to look within I think. The General Chat
is really a social site. I admire philby and Craig very much but
I have had my biggest arguments with those BASTARDS.

Eh...I can see why some ppl would get upset at the pornish stuff that's been posted, as they open a thread in the same room as their spouse or kids. It has no place here, & I don't give a flying flook about your opinion on the subject - if you post it, you are an asshole who has no regard or respect for other ppl on the site, &, quite frankly, you do not belong here (or anywhere else, except with others of your own kind).

As far as the "drama queen," "I am leaving" syndrome - some ppl think they owe it to their friends to let them know they're going, & why, so yeah, I can understand that, to a degree, as well.

Many of us have been here for well over a year, & feel like we've become friends with ppl here. New folks don't realize that. Some of them also don't realize, or care, that many of us are family types, who come here with family members in the same room as our computers.

Keep the porn in print, if you are so unimaginative as to have to use it. Glaring pics & links to things better left to "adult sites" have no business being here, in a music site.

I've gotten to where I hesitate to open MUSIC threads from many ppl, because of the recently added members who don't know how to behave like adults. My 3 yr old grandson is often here in the office with me, because he loves music so. You think I want HIM to see someone defecating into someone's face?

I don't understand the thinking process of some stupid ppl who have zero regard for simple decent human discourse, & I won't tolerate it in my life much longer, either. Get a grip on yourself, ppl. Don't do anything here that you wouldn't do in any other social situation. Your actions DO have an affect on others. At least ACT like you care, whether you do or not, for the sake of simple human decency.

Which only proves that some ppl can justify ANYTHING, as long as THEY are the ones doing the action. Your justification still doesn't make such things right & proper. There are ladies who use this site, as well. There are ministers who are musicians. There are many ppl who are here for music, bub. Would you flash pics like that in a bar, where other ppl could see it, ones that you don't know? I think not. The internet is a similar scene, & if you cannot see that, or if you WOULD act in such a way as to offend the maximum number of ppl as possible, I have no need for you, no sympathy for you, & zero regard for you. You get what you offer, Mike. When you offer such disrespect, what else can you expect?
