Old timers?

I played most of those as pre-closing ceremony/dinner entertainment at camp over the summer... Fantastic list, too.

• Yeah when we were young and strong hair was the only thing hanging down, if Argent had to write that song now hair would be the last hanging thing he’d write about.

Yeah, I used to listen to that a lot. There's a lotta dust on that oldie.

I don't remember John Denver hosting Midnight Special before. Wolfman Jack must've had laryngitis that night. :D

Half are still on the list if not more. It's a list of classics for sure. If I only had a dollar for every time I've played one of these songs I could retire in style !!!

Damn I'm feeling old !

Yeah, I gotta be honest. There's a bunch of those that have fallen off the "sure thing" list. They aren't as classic as all that.

And frankly, I'm okay with that.

A lot of them are songs I listened to in high school and loved them then.

But I can't remember why anymore. Many of them flat out reek.

Some of them are just plain boring, but a lot of them were killed by their own success. Played to death by bands that seriously overestimate their popularity.

There's been a lot of great music written and recorded since then and it's possible to preserve the truly good stuff, leave the cruft behind and embrace newer (and sometimes better) stuff. All at the same time.

All this being said, the ones on there that I would still regard as classics are on that list for a reason. Some songs just never get old.

No matter what, please don't anybody reply with a quote to Nav's original post!

That's quite a list. I read most of it in increments, good stuff.
