Every time, I mean every time I get online, another windows screen pops up and it's a damned Wallyworld(Wal-Mart) ad. I have to click out of the congradulations box in order to get rid of the stupid thing.

They've taken a lot of businesses away from small town communities. As well as played a big role in pollution.

That video seems far fetched, but then again, the world has gone a little crazy.

Well...they just lost all of MY biz...that is, until they've run out all the OTHER stores...with my gov't's help, of course!

Oh it's absolutely real brother. And they're also going into the Mall Of Amerika\ and other..
They'll have em everywhere soon before too long, and we are paying for them. Remember, the government doesn't have any money, it's ours!

They're also testing the vending machine liqueur stores; you'll have to swipe your card (papers please) to get it. Now they know who drinks, how much and when.
Once the "smart grid" is in place they'll know all of your habits. ie; when you are home, when you shower, eat, sleep, wake, watch TV ect. ect. ect.

People need to raise holy hell about this with their Wallmart managers and tell them that they won't shop there under surveillance, and don't believe in Communist Russian "spy on your neighbors for the state" system in their stores... keep us secure from what?
from who? We need to be protected from an over intrusive government, There is actually evidence of that existing... and it's not somebody faking it!!!

While I was trying to get my home page up, that is, as soon as I was trying to get online, lo and behold, a damn wal-mart ad butts in. :x  I'm really feeling some hate about their online gift card, and, just wal-mart in general.

So after dealing with that, I decide to go to this thread. I see the video that Phil just posts, and I gotta say I'm convinced! This is real! That lady's face just irritated me, and creeped me out at the same time.

Homeland security!? Seriously? This is outlandish!

Out of curiosity I was thinking about what the risks were if after 9/11 we did nothing and continued with business as usual.

Thirty terrorists attacks have been thwarted since 9/11. That’s over the course of nine years. Excellent something to be applauded. There are approximately thirty thousand commercial flights per day. Over a nine year period that is about 96,120,000 commercial flights. Divided by thirty (the number of attacks) = 3,204,000. Your odds in being stuck by lightening is about 1 in 500,000. Even if NONE of the plots were caught and all of them directed towards air travel, you would be about six times as likely to be struck by lightening then involved in a terrorists attack on an airliner. So shouldn’t we be investing huge amounts of resources in lightening prevention? During a lightening storm, do we all huddle in a corner of the basement waiting for the inevitable strike? Isn’t it the citizens responsibility to call the White House, every time there is a thunderstorm, so they can alert the populace and get folks to shelter? Since the threat of a lightening strike is so much more common.

In WW2 the balloon bombs dropped on the west coast by Japan were kept a secret, today the government would have every citizen in the backyard with a shotgun. Our government has discarded morality in pursuit of its own proliferation and importance. There are more government jobs than manufacturing jobs and if unchecked, it will be an unsustainable burden by a free society. Totalitarian socialism is not a valid defense of a free democracy and that’s exactly where we are headed.

Mall-Wart is only a speck of the problem. People allow corporations to do to them what they'd NEVER-IN-A-MILLION-YEARS let governments do to them. Insane.

And, supposed libertarians defend this sh*t as part of the "Free Market". f**k 'em. OUR government, controlled by "We the people..." is the only defense we have left, really. Boycotts are all nice and make you FEEL better. But, many of these assholes just don't care because it still isn't enough to hurt their bottom line.

And before GlenJ or J-Haley throw a fit calling me a Democrat-so-and-so, I'm not. They're part of the problem. Let's be real, we live in a one-party corporate-owned state. The Republicrats are a choice between the Right and the Far-Right, between Yuppiecrats and Republinazis. Teabaggers bitch about Socialism. But, a little Socialism would be a nice change from Fascism, which is what we are really dealing with in America.

Give me a decent third-party candidate any day, or at least someone like Dennis Kucinich or Ron Paul who aren't bought-off puppets.

Do you have ANY idea why Japanese balloon bombs were kept secret? Any friggin idea? Care to take a guess? Have any hunches?

Yeah Bob because we were at war and if the public were to know that we could be remotely fire bombed from Japan, it would have caused a panic and at the very least effected moral. That’s the obvious reason, if it’s some other arcane additional reason I’m unaware of, please let me know. But that WAS my point and if it happened today as I said, our government would have everyone looking to the sky so they could be shooting them down. They would be telling everyone how extremely dangerous they are and that it’s a definite possibility that one could fall on your house.

From alert levels to advice to be wary of your neighbor, the government is going to great lengths to ensure the public, that there is a terrorist under every rock. After 9/11 the most common quote I can remember was: “If we change our way of life then the terrorists have won.”

People have died obtaining our freedom, people have died maintaining it, so why must individual life be so much more precious than enjoying it? Why are our leaders not telling us this? If we wanted to wage war on terrorism, what we should do is accept that an open and free society requires risks and accept those risks with defiance, not a cower. If we need inspiration to do it, just look at London during the blitz. Tens of thousands of people died which could at anytime be prevented by brokering for peace. What can any enemy do to an opponent who refuses to relent?

By concentrating it as the focus as the goal to be won by the terrorists, we promote their efforts and it’s no win scenario. Security measures had to be increased, but we are way overreacting. Terrorists will inevitable succeed in attacking us, they only have to be successful once, where prevention has to be successful 100% of the time for 24/7/365. It’s just not feasible and what is the hysterical population liable to allow after the next one? Should a mandatory enema be enforced before boarding a plane?

Why does the government promote, rather than discourage the fear? In an environment of fear and distrust anything goes. Spot checks, strip searches, entrapment, domestic wiretapping, camera surveillance, telephone GPS tracking and eavesdropping, the tracking of electronic purchases and communications, most importantly the restriction of mobility. When I look at those measures, it’s not terrorists I fear and it’s not terrorists our government fears either.
