I was watching a comedy special and interestingly enough they were discussing how colors effected the mood of the crowd. One comedian swore that on a stage that was lit with blue light the crowd would be lethargic and mean, where red gave the best results. Hmm it was a while ago that could be reversed. :?

Man, I hate strobe lights!

I am a critic, & I take offense to this entire thread!

I am critical of everything...though not always in a bad way.

I've seen a lot of ppl that have no business even HAVING opinions, though, so I critique them whenever I get the chance. It's much fun, but sometimes this activity can come to fisticuffs, if one isn't careful...

There's a thing such as a critic and a critique.

To me a critic doesn't contribute anything other than remarks which insult or degrade people. They also try to puff themselves up as being sarcastic, funny, and witty, so that people will laugh at what they say.

A critique is someone who has an unbiased opinion, and who really seek to offer advice which they hope would help that person better themselves or their product. They aren't seeking to be mean or hurtful, they really want to see the other person do better or applaud them when they have something good.

I will admit, I can be a critic, especially with our government because I don't like many of our politicians, the parties or how the government is set up to protect them while we don't hold any importance to them unless they need us somehow. Therefore, I have no problems being mean, hurtful or saying something funny at their expense.

Musicians, I only get mean when I try to offer them a constructive critique - which they often ask for - then they want to get snotty because I didn't stroke their ego, and they think they sound fine just the way they are without putting any effort to better themselves. If you have the balls to play in front of a bunch of people you should be able to know when you're in tune, if you're singing out of key or your sound is just weak. As a singer/musician, I'm a workaholic and I'm never complacent to the point where I think my sound is perfect. I'm always striving to make it better.

Robert A. Heinlein wrote:A critic is a person who does not create and therefore feels qualified to criticize those who do create. There is some logic in this, he hates all creative people equally

I'm not sure I actually agree 100%, but there is a kernel of truth here.

Chaeya,
I really like the tracks you've posted. So, I've no need to critique your work. If we ever needed some vocal work done on a recording and we were in the area, I'd call ya.

You also seem like a really nice person. :) So, I've no need to critique you personally.

But, there ARE some clowns here asking for it. I'm sorry if sarcasm or humor are a part of that. But, it is better than just being a mean asshole. When the world dishes out pain and suffering, you can laugh, you can cry, or turn into a bullying jerk.
