Most ever? I think it was $800 for a 1.5 hr set. Not really the big time but it seemed pretty good in 1982. Back then I did session work that paid well also but I didn't really like the work. We usually get $100-200 per player most gigs these days and it usually includes dinner. Sometimes a bit less.

I would say that the most I have ever been paid was 200.00 for a half hour worth of music for wedding ceremonies. Which is about 1/2 hour worth of music. THat is what I usually ask for wedding ceremonies.

Have you toured on the amount you get per gig?

Ummm, I wouldn't call it a tour. More like a road trip. Beautiful downtown Fresno, Sacramento, Oakland, San Francisco, Santa Maria and home. Most of our expenses were covered so we did bring home some cash. It was fun when I was young but I prefer to sleep in my own bed these days. Nearly all our work is within 1 hour of my house in SoCal. One show last year was literally 2 minutes from home. Nice!

A couple of New Years ago we got $2500, 5 people so we got $500 a piece.

Our regular price for a 4 hour gig is $600 a night devided by 4 is $150 a man.

Locally at the moment most clubs that are still calling me offer 3-400 dollars a night or the door. Without the guarantee we dont do it.

K early on we probably all played for free just to get out and play, over time if you do it enough your whole perspective on this will change.

Good Luck, if you can maintain $100 or up for man then in this economy you are doing good.

Maintaining $100 per man per show would be great! I see how it would be harder these days. Aside from just the economy, it seems that less people even go out to see live shows anymore. I don't know why that is, most shows don't cost that much.

And to clarify. It takes me about an hour and a half to set up and an hour to tear down. That included 600 lbs of gear in and out of my element by myself.

You kick ass Paul !!!

The most we ever got was 2500 for a new years gig. That was playing country covers for about 8 hrs . Funny doing anything else never payed as good as the country music did. If I tried to figure how much I've made against what I've spent , I lost 300 grand over the last 35 years.

$900 for one hour? Sign me up!

$2,500.00 for eight hours must have gotten exhausting. But I gotta admit, the money would be a great motivator to do a good show.

Yeah man !

But you know it does not take much of a drive + load up + load out + play
to = an 8 hour day++.

Before I got off into all this I had no idea.

People on the outside think it's just all fun and games.

Once on the inside you realize even if it is all having fun it's a heck of a lot of WORK.
