I'm embarrassed to even bring up what I've made.

What's the most you ever made?

Well, I kind of lack gigs that pay, but working at summer camp, where I played every morning and evening, I was making $175/wk. Not bad cash for someone with no bills to pay.

Paid? What's that? :)

N2 Submission made, I think, $250 @ the Erotic Poetry Festival (which we thought we were doing for free!). We've played with bigger drawing bands. But, they took all the money. :(

More often than not we had to play stupid mind games with promoters who, suddenly, don't know who has the money or who is supposed to pay us or has a surcharge they neglected to tell us about which takes all our earnings. :x

I played a Samhain party with another band once and was paid in homebrewed beer (which I don't drink). :?

I'm not too hung up on making money with music. But, more money = equipment, food, gas, and other expenses get taken care of... so, I can make more music!

That's awesome Shredd6. 8)

Being called "the little guy with the moves" was probably my greatest complement.

Not been paid a dime ... not even one shinny penny.
All proceeds plus a healthy chunk of our own change goes into our mission.
I consider it a tithe. And proud to do it.

I always got about two drink tickets, which I gave away to my friends who came to see me. Not too much to spread around(only two pitchers of beer).

Here's a better question: what's the most you've ever been paid for in ca$h?

Edit: The most I ever made in cash was...cough...$40...cough...dollars.

Biggest cash gift we received was $300.00 ... the best I can remember.

It's ridiculous how ignorant me and my fellow members used to be about the music industry. I think we were just glad to be playing.

After going to school for music related topics and reading a lot about this subject, I found myself saying "I could of had a V8"! "What's a rider"?

You have to be up front about getting paid, or they will just give you peanuts to get you out of their hair...am I wrong?

Depends upon your perspective I suppose.

Prevost82 can expect that kind of remittance due to being a seasoned professional and having made the appropriate contacts.

For me to expect to get paid a grand for a gig, or a hundred dollars for each song.
Well ... I might just as well sell my guitar and go fishing.
