J, absolutly. I agree J, They are just like a fine wine. Hubby and I saw Ian Anderson in concert around this time last year. Ian's flute playing has also improved. Can you believe he has been a performer at a flute conventions AND has been interviewed in "Flute Talk" magazine. SO I am glad that he is appreciated among the more "high brow" world of flutists. The flute is an extrememly versatile piece of machinery and Jethro Tull can be credited in being a band that brought us to this realization. Also, Ian has helped to bring many boys and girls to the realization that the flute is not a "girl's" instrument.

I come from a very different musical world! Its very surreal classically trained redneck from the south! Its wierd Mary I REALLY don't veiw music from a guitar players perspective! I see music from the OUTSIDE INN! however I am Green with envy that you guy's got to see Ian at this level of musical MATURITY!

The show was outstanding J. Ian chooses the the best musicians and has such a "world" view of music. He performed "My God" my favorite. What I love about seeing these oldtimers is that they prove that rock music can be persued as a career to train for at the college level.

Here he is at the Wiltern, we saw him a few days beforehand at the Anaheim Grove.

Jethro Tull has a signature sound no doubt. It's what EVERY band and musician should strive for. Doesn't matter what genre, what instruments, etc. Try and sound like nobody else. Ian Anderson is a genius.

One thing that he does that is exemplary is his ability to pick incredible backup musicians.

I really appreciate how he blends old world sounds with the new, "folk" with rock & classical & jazz. He has an amazing personality that comes through his music with all the emotional content, song-writing skills, & musicianship that only a true master could provide.
