Hey everyone.. I'm not one to like spamming.. and I don't think this is.. I just wanted to let people know about a facebook application I made..

It lets people vote for music for facebook events, and I think this would be an awesome idea for a band to let the fans / guests choose either which songs are played, or just the last song.. it's up to you..

You just need to go to http://setlist.ca and you connect using facebook. You can create a playlist in iTunes of your band's songs, then upload it to the website. Create an event of the show, associate the playlist with that event, and now your fans can vote on the songs!

I'd love to know what you guys think of my application..

thanks!

Sounds groovy, unfortunately our songs are not on iTunes. Yet.

You don't need your songs on iTunes.. you just have to import your songs into your own itunes application.. and then create a playlist with your songs.. and upload that playlist to my Setlist website.

simple and easy. :)

NO REQUESTS PLEASE. Sorry, I pick the tunes. (God forbid it can even be one of MY tunes.) YOU listen or you can go to another venue. So far most people stay and listen and sometimes even dance. Imagine that.

My fans are stupid, by definition. They ARE, after all, MY fans, are they not? I wouldn't trust them to choose my dessert, let alone my material.

It is MY choice of material that made them my fans in the first place.

For a few gigs last year I put the name of one song on an index card and created a "deck", shuffled them and then did the entire gig whatever order the songs ended up in the deck of index cards. Made for some very interesting sets. Maybe a good goal is have 52 songs in the repertoire, put each song on a playing card and have somebody from the audience pick a card...

That is a good audience participation maneuver Bob.
I'll have to remember that.

We generally try to build tension as the sets get progressively heavy.

But sometimes we have to make adjustments when the venue says something like, keep it kinda soft till after 10 , then let her rip.

Best hold on after ten.
