I must say I'm impressed, Krul! I mean, I've steamed a few times after sex, when it was outside on a chilly day, but I never worked up enough friction to actually SMOKE before! Perhaps a little lubrication would help?

Cars get us to work, school, church and food. To the hospital for care. Those things equal redeeming qualities. Necessary evil if you will. The benefits far outweigh the risk.

Smoking has no redeeming qualities unless you count the "pleasure" your brain has been lied to about and therefore incorrectly perceives.

For the multiple people in this thread who cite the many other health threats as a reason to not be concerned about this health threat.

Paul, stop beating your head on this wall. Folks in denial will make all sorts of rationalizations even with the evidence being hacked up by their own lungs.

In fact...how can anyone come up with ANY stats regarding smoke? Where are the controlled groups? You know - the ppl who aren't exposed to any carcinogens, & those test groups who were ONLY exposed to tobacco's carcinogens. Come on! There has NEVER been a truly scientific test done on the subject, EVER, in history, & you damned well know it! Doesn't matter , though, as long as YOUR beliefs are followed by the gov't to control the actions of others, right?

I suppose that if it turns out that there are certain genes that cause cancer, you will outlaw ppl with those genes having children..."for the good of the children," right?

My great-grandmother was around smokers for her entire life, & she lived until 93. Was she the exception that "proves" your 2nd-hand smoke rules?

Smoking has gone down quite a bit in this country, but...funny thing...cancer rates aren't dropping at all, let alone like the smoker's numbers are dropping. Your assertions are built on quicksand. Your pet scape goat is just another myth.

Your push for the FSC's are making the cigs even worse for ppl than they were before you started messing with them to make them "safe." STUPID PPL ARE EVERYWHERE!

EVERYTHING you do-gooders do only causes more strife & more problems. It is happening in little pieces all over the world. People are really screwed up because the few truly wealthy are tired of playing with money and realize total human dominance is more fun than owning slaves.

Here ya go. I am going to fight to pass a law that mandates that every citizen over the age of 5 must become a smoker. If everyone is a smoker I will save 600,000 people from a horrible cancerous death caused from second hand smoke.

Then I would raise the taxes on a pack to $20. This will wipe out the national deficit in two months.
People will be so addicted they will have to work. Anyone that tries to quit smoking will be labeled a terrorist and take out and eliminated. And we we will stop 600,000 people from dropping dead from second hand smoke.

I want to continue this total ridiculous stuff that is being handed to us but I have to go eat.

Lung damage caused from smoking or working in a coal mine or on a farm IS NOT CANCER. ITS LUNG DAMAGE!

DON'T TREAD ON ME also means these are the things I would never do to YOU. However that attitude with that moral adjustment basically screams that you are better able to make decisions for me because you are saying I lack personal moral responsibility and you need to enforce it with your laws because you don't want me to make a mistake.

That is exactly were this whole thing goes wrong . Not the smoking thing at all. I thought every one would be intelligent enough to see the total absurdity of the whole thing

But let me ask you is this parent a congressman or senator? We just saw last week an actor sent two jail for 3 years and a congressman given a slap on the wrist and his job back for the same TAX EVASION CRIME. You want more laws.

I want more people to wake up in the morning and say I have a moral responsibility to do the correct and proper thing. Sometimes that just means saying something no matter how pissed of someone gets.

More laws that lack equal justice and scream social justice.......
