You can't seriously be equating a dirty house with poisoning your kids. IMHO, trying to stop child abuse or neglect isn't "meddling." Eventually, everyone draws the line somewhere. Just because your parents did something to you doesn't make it right either.

But I also am aware that the statistical research simply does not bear this fact out.

Only a moderate percentage of people whom smoke their whole lives die of cancer. ( forget the article's reference number )

And only a slightly smaller percentage of people whom have never smoked do.

My love of liberty and the sanctity of the family unit over rides my love of children I guess.

Don't make me cry. Those bastards made me sign out a " special needs " child to his recently paroled mother and drug dealing father from a children's care center.

I told them ( the case workers, two of them ) " Your making a mistake"
" These people are only interested in the little boys income from the state "
I was told I was "obstructing justice for the child belonged with his parents."

He was locked in a closet, starved and tortured with cigarette burns for two weeks before he died.

Social services my ass.

Whoever told you that is liable for everything that happened to that child. What did you do about it? Nothing? Did any of those lazy bureaucrats go to jail? I think not.

When houses get dirty enough they are actually very poisonous. I saw an episode of hoarders on a&e website. Boy had wretched asthma from the mold caused by the parents hoarding.

The mother went into a psych institution. Her husband fled back to Mexico.

This sh*t happens all the time. The general public does not hear about it.
And the information is " privileged " and protected by HIPPA.

For real! Fat is killing and costing us. But I won't choose the lesser of 2 evils.

My wife worked in the nicu. Those stories of abusive parents like George told kill me. Stabbing pains. I truly love children. I always have. Even when I was little babies and I were drawn to each other.

Actually I've not had a cigar in three weeks now.

Want to get back to some level of martial arts training maybe even teach again.
