fisherman bob wrote:Smoking last I checked was still legal in the U.S. There's carcinogens in EVERYTHING including the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat.
Agreed, so why increase the doses of carcinogens especially on the innocent children trusting us to protect them.
fisherman bob wrote: If smoking is ILLEGAL in a vehicle with your kids in it, then you have the right to report it to the authorities.
Through research I found that it is indeed illegal. And I will report them.

I can think of NOTHING more important than protecting children. When I see people smoking in their own closed up cars I feel pity. When I see a child in the same car I feel an overwhelming urge to protect the innocent.
fisherman bob wrote: What about all the concerts you have attended all these years?
It has been years since I did that. Thanks to laws I will never have to make that choice again. The civic centers and performance halls here have no smoking. YAY! So the last few I saw at Jefferson Center for instance. Grace Potter, Kathy Mattea, and Keller Williams were all smoke free.
fisherman bob wrote:Should all the people who have smoked at them been arrested?
No. It was legal.
fisherman bob wrote: What about all the smoke-filled gigs you performed at?
Not for years. And never again. I will not abuse my instrument that way ever again.
fisherman bob wrote: Now there's towns where it's ILLEGAL to smoke anywhere within city limits except your own single-family home, not even your own condo or townhouse.
Great! Your rights - my rights end when they interfere with the rights of others
fisherman bob wrote: I've lost gigs after they issued smoking bans, places went out of business.
That sucks. Sorry to hear it. That really shows that the party was the entertainment. The booze, the smoking and social interaction.
fisherman bob wrote: I'd rather gig at a smoke-filled venue than not play anywhere.
Not me. remember that 12 gig, 4000 mile tour I played last year? No cigarettes. Not a single bar.
fisherman bob wrote:I think it should be up to the business owner whether smoking be allowed in THEIR business. It's THEIR business, smoking is still LEGAL.
Agreed.
fisherman bob wrote:I understand your wanting to protect kids' health, do so when there's ILLEGAL activities that threaten their hea;th...
Smoking around kids IS illegal in cars in this state. It should be illegal to smoke around kids period.
