Oh RG just reminded me of another guitar I played for years. Here's a pic:
Great action, but the neck scale always seemed a little out of whack.

The actual first I can't truely remember...It was some sort of acoustic, when I was around 5 to 7 years old.
Sears Les Paul(Dark sunburst)
Kingston Les Paul(Sunburst)
Kramer Stryker(Strat type w/ Floyd Rose tremelo-Dark blue)
Silvertone(of some type)
B.C. Rich(Strat type-Black/chrome)
Martin Sigma acoustic
These were all guitars I owned as a kid.

That was my first bass. Played like a brick. I was really glad when I sold it & got my Fender Jazz...then I sold that & got my Aria Pro II, & a SounDesign 5 string, too.
SMILE - it's the safest way to spread your cheeks!
Tobacco sunburst Silvertone acoustic, neck like a baseball bat, played about like one too. 5 years old, my uncle caught me playing with his guitar (identical to mine, but before I got it) and taught me 3 chords, a few minutes later I was playing "Little Brown Jug". (G,C and D I think it was.)
He and his brother taught me the basic open chords, the rest was all self taught. Two lessons in 6th grade, he wanted to start from scratch...this is the E string, this is A...I said "Yeah, and this is D, G, B and E", played all the chords, started into a song, told him I already knew how to play and wanted to learn lead.
He said "This is the E string, this is the A..."
I quit after 2 days of that...he did show me the beginning of the "Batman" TV series theme. I took it from there and taught myself the rest. Also learned sax and everything else in the high school band room, keyboards, bass, drums, a little mandolin, picked up a mountain dulcimer in a pawn shop and in 2 minutes could play it a little...but never managed to get a grip on harmonica or banjo...
Now I concentrate on guitar, slide, some sax and tinker on my Wurlitzer electric piano now and then.
After the old Silvertone I had a no name japanese single pickup POS, a Mosrite double neck, Sigma acoustic, Aria Pro II electric, Lotus Les Paul copy (Somebody kick me for letting that one go), Epiphone POS strat copy, Washburn BT2 - currently own a Squier Strat, Peavey Patriot, Cort CL1500 , '66 Harmony Bobkat, Takamine G series acoustic and a couple of off brand strat or tele copies. And a '45 - '47 Electromuse lap steel. Couple of Fender amps, Peavey amp, old early '70's Harmony practice amp, Fender H.O.T. amp, stomp boxes, mics, 2 xylophones, Artley flute, King alto sax, '70's Wurlitzer Electronic Piano and a pile of other goodies...
And a bad case of GAS...(gear acquisition syndrome.)

That's a good story. I grew up listening to Glen Miller. I also did a version of "Little Brown Jug" with a walking bass line years ago. That's a fun tune.

You've seen my pictures and the smaller scale guitars I prefer.
Can you even imagine me trying to learn how to play that thing.
Honestly. I wish I still had her. She looked damn good even for a brick. LOL
Guess I didn't know enough about "tone" in those days to care.
Paired with that Peavey combo I had, she'd shake the dust out of the rafters in my Dads barn.
The good old days ... I guess.
Aint got crap on our band project these days.
Must be living the good old days now ... I'm blessed with good friends and musicians.

I still have mine. It's a Fender '57 AVRI. Look to the left and you'll see it in my avatar.
Just let me know if you ever want to sell it or trade Scott. I'd play the hell out of that thing.

My first guitar wasn't officially mine, it was my dad's, who eventually took it back only to never ever even let me borrow again...for anything. I taught myself on it, but started messing with it when I was too small to pick it up.
It was a 1962 Gibson semi-hollowbody( E something, I don't remember). He claims it was made out of cherry wood. It has the Bigsby bridge.
I know it's well worth over $10,000. Many music stores have tried to get me to trade it for anything in the store whenever I would tell them about it. If it was mine, I would never get rid of it. It has the best neck I've ever played on in my entire life.
