Stranger, by going to others for advice & criticism, a budding writer/performer can get invaluable info on developing his style, recording techniques, & often even some new ideas to flesh out or even "fix" a piece that he's having a problem with.

I see nothing inherently wrong with it, & although I do prefer it when ppl have contributed to the forum first, I can certainly understand wanting to share, or get critiques or kudos when you first come in here.

That being said...I couldn't get the link to play. Sorry.

I don't write for prise. If you understand me like that, I'm sorry. I just want to known what people think about my music, because I'm very severe for myself. And I don't konw where I should go to find honest feedback...

Eh...don't worry about the nay-sayers. Keep posting & they'll come around. We do get a lot of the "tell me how great I am or I'll bitch you out" types in here, but most of us always give ppl the benefit of the doubt, for a bit.

Personally like it a lot. I would prefer to hear more instrumentation, but I understand that you are a minimalist composer. Why is that./ Is it because that is what you want or is it because you are not yet knowledgeable about writing for other instruments. I could easily add something flutey. I can just hear it. Keep it up...Music is a journey... enjoy the ride.

I like it too. I would be hestitant to call them songs, per se. However, I, like some of the others here, could definitely see them as being something of substance when filled out a bit more.

Nice job, keep at it.

Black57, i just love minimalist music. But If you want, you colud join flute for experiment. In minimalist music may be many instruments, but leitmotif have to be repeated.

Everyone likes to be praised... to have conformation they are doing well. But there are different levels of musicians and writers here. Some are only looking for praise, but the more serious among us, want the real critiques. And knowing there are different levels here, can affect our critiques. George and his band for instance... None of these guys are professional musicians, but... we HONESTLY appreciate the hard work they put into it, and enjoy watching them grow week to week, and get better and better, and we tell him so! But... have someone come here and say: "I want to do this as a career..." and TRUST ME... they will get the Simon Cowel version real quick! If you SAY you are taking this seriously, we are going to take you at your word, and be SERIOUS with our criticisms and suggestions! There is a WEALTH of experience on these boards, and it's a GREAT place to have your peers critique you.

Yes, taking this seriously. I think, this is unreachable for me or very, very hard to fulfillment but I really want to try do this. I love music and I love composing. And I just want to know - my art is something nice for you and what I could do to be better.

Good luck to you too.....

And again to you all...

I don't prefer to participate in music criticism as I really don't know who it is that's criticizing me.
That is unless I've gotten to know them over the web and trust their ability to understand what I'm doing and who I am.

The reason I wrote what I wrote is that the guy had one post. How does he know who's criticizing him?

I also personally believe that any serious artist has to learn self examination to get anywhere with their art..

But that's me..... If you want to participate...go for it.....

That's reasonable.

Maybe not the "who I am" part though.

It’s normal for a young musician or for musician of any age to seek feedback, in your case I wouldn’t put too much weight on whatever you are told on this board or anywhere else for both negative and positive critiques because you are a work in progress and as you evolve you'll find out that what’s true today won’t be true tomorrow.

Listening to your music I’d say you have the right tools in place already, give yourself time to grow musically and let your drive and ambition for music do the rest.

Decide what your goal is, to be a composer, performer or both whatever your goal is I see no obstacles in your way define what success is for you and go strongly for it even during difficult times.

Good luck.
