I've said before that if it weren't for all the deaths 9/11 would have been hilarious.

But, I still believe it is provable that Dick Cheney and Dubya ALLOWED it to happen, if not helped engineer it to happen.

Muslims are just this year's model bogeyman the military industrial complex needed to replace those scary Soviets with. Anyone seriously scared of a Jihad is a cowardly pu**y. Which is why I get pissed at our rights being sacrificed. That's what those f**k WANT us to do. :x

JH, I think you're forgetting what this country stands for, in your moment of passion It stands for freedom of religion, for one thing.

You & I are too young to remember the concentration camps that AMERICAN citizens of oriental decent were put into during WWII, but surely you can see that it was one of the more shameful acts we have perpetrated upon ourselves, no?

There are no cut & dry, clear answers that will make us all safe, all the time. Get used to it, or subject yourselves to a total lack of freedom in the name of safety.

I, for one, am NOT willing to do that. Not am I willing to treat any group of law-abiding American citizens unfairly, because of a fear that they might be in league with our enemies, because of skin or hair or eye color, or what book they get their spirituality from, or even what language they prefer to speak.

The more knee-jerky we get, the more frantic we become, the more we overreact to these threats, the more we lose, & the more they win.

Now, I fear the nutcases in charge of my safety as much as I fear the enemy, & that means we have lost to them. We have lost our rights. We have lost our freedom, We have lost our dignity. We have lost our way of life.

I will NOT give in so easily!

The very first time someone tries to strip search me, or demand my papers in an unConstitutional setting, I will refuse to cooperate, I will fight it to my death, because THAT is what I believe makes or breaks us all as Americans. The current world situation should have NO IMPACT on my right to travel unmolested in my home country. Call me naive, call me a rabble-rouser, call me stupid, but I live to be as free as I can be, & I WILL NOT BOW TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO CHANGE THAT.

Imho, if we do anything less, we may as well start making our women wear burkahs, & hand over the reins, cuz we don't deserve to be free, we don't deserve this wonderful land, or to be AMERICANS, by giving into the fears foisted upon us by an unseen enemy.

And Klugmo - NO...just no. Grow a set. Stand up & be an American. We have the RIGHT to travel freely, without molestation, within our own country. Many many ppl have fought to assure us of that right, you included, I believe. Will you give it all up so easily?

You're right about one thing, Klugmo - freedom is NOT free. It comes with certain dangers from those who would steal it from you. It comes with the responsibility that we should all be prepared to protect our freedoms with all our might, with our very lives, if necessary, to insure that our children, & their children, too, can enjoy the freedoms that we have.

We cannot turn America into a prison state to insure life, because life in prison is simply not worth living. Stop the madness.

WTF are you people talking about.

I freely walked out of my house, got into my Jeep and freely drove from MN to CA with a couple of guns. I was stopped two times for speeding and sent on my way with warnings to slow down. It was a beautiful trip with lots free things to see and all sorts of free people.

I got to CA and decided to fly back to MN and get the Ford F150 and drive it back to CA

Are ya still with me.

So

I drive to really big building with lots of million dollar airplanes and jets around it. I Freely walked inside and proceeded to the airplane.

Did you get the part about the millions of dollars of airplanes and jets?

The man there ask me to empty my pockets and proceed through the scanner. Ok NO BIG DEAL, SO FU@KUN' WHAT! Thats great security.

SO

I get into the plane.

OMFG I'm traped, what if the piolet goes crazy, WTF am I gonna do. What if the lady next to me farts alot, WTF am I gonna do. I'm locked in a fu@cking plane and that first step out the door is a bitch.

We landed.....I'm free again.

Drove the truck to CA and then both cars back to MN in total freedom.

You people need to get out of the house more and find a corn field and smoke some tassles or something.

Jesus Fu@king Christ.

Edit: Ya all here are some very intelligent people. Why don't you figure out a way to get rid of all the gangs in this country. They are the ones taking away our freedom.

True that for the most part we are still free to travel about... If you don't mind you and your wife, mother and children having to take off their shoes and walk in your sock feet through a heavily traveled chute.

Not really that big o deal... other than we're in the U.S.A. and not Soviet Russia.

To have them each walk through a full body scanner and be in fact bare naked in front of strangers?

And that doesn't piss you off?

I would punch somebody in the face for asking me to have my family strip in front of them. But to do so just to have the right to visit your father in Lake Tahoe?

THAT'S NOTHING SHORT OF INSANITY TO ME, AND NOTHING THAT I WILL EVER SUBMIT MYSELF OR ANY LOVED ONE TO.

I SPIT IN THE EYE OF ANY MAN OR WOMAN IMPOSING THIS SORT OF DISRESPECT AND INDIGNITY ON THEIR FELLOW MANKIND!

If you want to call a life without dignity being alive you are served but for others the land of the free and home of the braves demands much more from its citizen's character.

You wrote "Freedom is not free" (i wish a had a penny for every time I read this lame quote) but unlike all the other would be poets who have used the quote you have put a price on that liberty... your dignity.
Thanks but no thanks.

[quote="Nav4c"]It seems that when you buy an airline ticket you give up all your rights sign of the time I guess, at this rate what’s next a colonoscopy before boarding a plane?

I personally dont like getting patted down and screened, but if I or any of my family ever lost their lives because of some loony tune carrying a bomb on that wasnt detected cause they didnt search everyone then Im sure I would feel a lot different.

Sorry, but ya know what? If we bombed the everlovin' HELL out of their country of origin each & every time they hit us with a bomb, & killed untold numbers of innocents, like we did in WWII, this sh*t would stop.

OK Hayden, They don't X-Ray you and your family. They don't
X-Ray anyone on your flight for reasons of freedom. The guy in the
seat behind you has C4 wrapped around his waist and hates all
Americans and is willing to die. You and family go up and then come
down unexpectedly on top of many many other innocent people just
living their life.

That is a realistic scenario.

In this case YOUR freedom cost toooo much.

Now you cant spit in anybodies face.

He may be willing to die, but is he willing to sacrifice thousands of his countrymen, as well?

Huge military reprisals would stop the terrorism. It would make all those Pakistan-like countries think twice before they allowed terrorist training camps to exist within their borders. They would have to police their OWN country, for the safety of ours. They would actually start working against this type of crap, rather than just giving it lip service, like they do now.

This modern, touchie-feelie way of handling this crap can not work. We will continue to have the fear of unwarranted violence on our soil as long as we ALLOW it.

I say let's all force OTHER countries to live i fear, to have THEIR citizens searched & humiliated, before we allow it to happen to us.

Wtf happened to the American backbone?

The Gov. official controling this said it is policy that
children 12 and under are not searrched in this manner.(hands on)

BUT, there are I'm sure many soldiers with missing limbs
from Viet Nam and Iraq from children forced to or unknowingly
carrying bombs that would disagree with that policy.

Sometimes it is hard to wrap your head around the degree of evil we are dealing with.

Due to the nature of my profession I’ve flown for the past 25 years, I’ve been screened patted down and questioned by security multiple times and I’ve never felt humiliated or complained about it, but these latest security measures IMO go beyond of what a government should be allowed to do in a so called free democratic society.

What we are talking about here is to find the right balance between the need of security and protecting people right to privacy (of their own body none the less) a subject that should have been debated by some government committee before implementing intrusive security measures, instead without debate these steps were imposed on the people with arrogance by the TSA.

If these feds autocrats are left unchecked they are goint to keep chipping away at our freedom until one day people realize that are totally subjugated by their own government.

No I’m not antigovernment, I’m anti over reaching government, again we need to find the right balance here as well.
