jeez ya can't even try to lighten things up around here without gettin cranked on

I keep looking for work all the time here in my field even though I have a job but am now only on a 4 day (32hour) work week! It's freakin' disgusting what they're offering as a salary! I would actually make more now on a 3 day work week... as a matter of fact, I'd make more sitting home on unemployment then what's being offered out there! Why do you think peeps are staying on unemployment?? Duh... Hmmm lets see....work your ass off for 5 days for less than what you would make sitting home dong nothing collecting unemployment. Let me tell you...should I end up losing my job, I'm going to take advantage of my UE benefits full term! Prolly go to school for something though..as long as I got a check coming every week!

Going to school is far from sitting on your ass. It takes dedication.
Re education is the purpose of these benefits IMO.
Have used them myself, but not near what I've paid in before or since.

Put that money back in budget I'd have my business up and running in less than a year. As well as provide employment opportunity for others.

That's a better idea than paying some federal employed nit wit to manage and steal my money.

I hear you Sans I don't doubt what you experienced. It's been hard year and I'm overly sensitive.
I've been an employer before and it's very easy to be irritated at your employees and their shortcomings, what you really want is copies of yourself.
The real problem is: when you find people who have the qualities to be excellent employees they most times also have the qualities to be excellent
businessmen. I trained two people int their own business.

Truth is you're right ....it is hard to find good help. But my point is that we are in a different situation than we have before. We're seeing people out of work that haven't been and I really don't see it getting better....and I really don't think for the most part.....it's their fault.

Now let me tell you the other side. My part time seasonal oil driver is a retired cop. His pension a benefits are more than you guys will make in a lifetime. YOU ALLOWED IT.
Anyway ,he was working for a national fireworks company,as a manager. When the economy hit the skids, they laid him off. Now get this,,, Because he works for me part time, UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE came after me for BIG BUCKS because he worked for me. So in other words, I am now responsible for the failure of another company.

In fact I feel really great. I blew out 80 grand in debt in the last six months. I am thinking about putting another service van on the road. New oil truck. And I got my bench back up to 210 at my advanced age of 55.
However, one thing I will not tolerate is the view point you keep spouting, that it is OK to STEAL. IT isn't. Redistribution of wealth is stealing. PERIOD.

We,re cool. And I concur with your point.
Have family and friends for whom it has been a tough year as well.
It's been hard on my family too. Though as Nurses we can work as much as we can physically and or mentally tolerate.
I've been working a PRN schedule to be more accessible to my family, band, ETC. while the wife works her ass off to meet bills.

( previous I worked "Weekend Doubles"- work 32 hrs and get paid for 40, but two 16 hour shifts of nursing on about four hours sleep in between is hard on a person and family cohesion. )

That is what befuddles me some. I know it's tough on the employment market. Yet I see all these situations available.
Granted most of them are "take home pay " jobs and not much more.
It's kind of sends a mixed signal, you know what I mean ?
