Man, I just don't get it.
Everywhere I look are HELP WANTED posted in bold.
I've had 5 unsolicited job offers in the last 3 days.

From as diverse areas as NEW YORK, NEW YORK, WASHINGTON DC, & even PORTLAND, OREGON. Some of the solicitation calls out of FLORIDA.

From rehabilitation nursing to polishing floors at night ??

Been doing a lot of shopping for electronics ETC, for my music project and dang near every store has a HW sign posted ??

Some of these jobs are pretty high $ affairs too.
Others minimum wage.

It just seems really odd.

I found a job on craigslist!

Of course, I'll hafta drive 7 hours round trip to do the job, which requires a LOT of driving...& there ain't much pay...but I'm considering it!

I went downtown yesterday, and not only did I see more homeless people than ever before, I also got hit up for change more than ever. I knew something was wrong right there. Talked to a homeless guy recently, and he told me all the shelters were packed.

They forgot to take the sign down. Happens here a lot. Perhaps Neon lights would announce it better?

No, not the case Chippy. At least not where I made my inquires.

Management and owners pretty much say the same thing.

Nobody wants to work, just sit on their ass and text all day.

Are we so removed from reality ?

If so, we sure as hell wont stay there.

Help Wanted signs around here seem extinct. Been a looong time since I saw one of those.

I know the U.K. is suffering from the lack of work available too.

With as many people out of work as there are I can not believe that these people can't find people to fill their positions. And I don't agree that everybody wants to sit on their ass and text. It's easy to sit in judgment but there are an overwhelming amount of people chasing very few jobs. And many many people that were fired from jobs that disappeared and aren't coming back.

Because the jobs that can support a family are going away. It used to be that a person could get a factory job or service job that could still buy a house and modestly support a family. But the dollar amount the American worker makes these days is equal to what he made in 1970 in real dollar amounts. And those factory and service jobs are gone...

It's all fine and well to talk about the job at the 7-11 that's open.. but it won't make the house payment....Especially if you had a nice white collar job that's gone....

This time last year wasn't great by any stretch of the imagination, but I was making $25-30 an hour when I had work.

I've cut my rate to $15 an hour, but no one is hiring.

This sucks, ppl.

I have never seen such a bunch of wimps. When the going gets tough you have to get going. OH and all your liberal let's just steal and redistribute the wealth. IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is not to say I don't feel for the person that has been out of work for 2 years. YOU ARE MAKING A JOKE, I want to be a rocket scientist also but those jobs are far and few between.

Get off your lazy BUTTS America stop complaining and become a viable TAX PAYING citizen again. This time let our government let you keep a bit more of your hard working efforts.

You are letting me down because I can not support another hundred families , no matter how hard I work. You won't get it.

My mother once told me if you want a friend you have to be a friend.

And my father told me if you want a job you have to have something to offer. The days of no-brainer jobs ended 25 years ago. There's plenty of positions that go unfilled because of a lack of qualified people. Get off yer butt, get retrained and hustle like a pimp.

Just an observation I made.
The signs / job openings are there.
I personally spoke with four of the managers because my wife and I are considering going into public business and would need employees.
The sentiments were quite honestly very negative towards the lack of ethic in the general workforce.
You can challenge an observation and information from people I interviewed if you like.
But these are the facts of the observation I made.

It only makes sense that employment opportunity levels will fluctuate and differentiate regionally.

Though the medical opportunities I have been offered cover coast to coast.
