LOL I know you all have some meaty stories. I was talking to a friend and he wanted to know who did the worst show I ever saw live.

MY vote goes to.. gulp.. Type O Negative. I love them, but that night they were mud incarnate. Pete Steele was so drunk he couldn't speak the words, let alone sing them. I think he bit himself with those fake vampire fangs..

I think it's on utube. Someone sent me a link recently and he was at least as drunk if it wasn't the same damn show.

(I am soo glad I was drunk as well. I kind of pretend it didn't happen and it wasn't as bad as I remembered it)

YOUR TURN...

It would be difficult to list the worst, I've so many bad acts. But the biggest let downs were Van Halen and Led Zeppelin.

I will always remember 'Foreigner' as the worst concert Ive been to, Couldnt hear the vocals, & the keyboard player just stood there with his arms crossed. They sucked!

KANSAS, in a reunion show some years ago. Sweet Jesus. Those poor concert goers should have been recipients of a UN care package drop after that show.

Back in the mid-eighties I went to see Canned Heat at a small club in New Jersey. They showed up an hour and a half late, got started almost at midnight, and were SO SEARING loud my ears rang for a week. I walked out of the club after only three songs. The other horrible show was Hubert Sumlin (Howl'in Wolf's lead guitarist) with a young back-up band. Hubert had to be wasted, couldn't play a good lick, kept walking out into the crowd, a number of times he pulled his guitar chord out of his amp. One of the band members REELED him in by his chord and plugged him back in (Hubert kept playing even though he wasn't plugged in at times). It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen at a show, but it was sad. The back-up band was AWFUL, he couldn't play a lick, I walked out after one set. What a disappointment to go see some of your musical heroes and they put on a pathetic performance. Later...

In July my fiance, roomate, and I went to see the legendary Daniel Johnston perform at The Exit/In in Nashville Tenn. So it's not like the stage was going to be blessed w/ technically skilled musicians anyway, however when these goony assed metal monsters known as the "Matoid" belted out a disgusting version of Eleanor Rigby, I felt compelled (in my drunken state) to shout and remind him of how horrible he sounded. Then his mother said from about 4 people to the left of me in the front of the audience crowd "Hey, They are the band that is going to play backup for Daniel Johnston. Who brings their mother to a show and hides them in the audience for crowd control? I mean COME ON what a Eff'n pansy
