sweet I get to play neutral veteran again!
As a vet, I believe anyone should be able to voice their opinion about something at anytime. This is what I call the first amendment. Now, some politicians would take away from it saying that you cant be liable, or slanderous, or what ever. But I'm saying that he (Mike Nobody) should be able to voice his opinion without threats of violence. Threatening someone to believe the way you do is what a lot of 20th century fascist did, and the results were less than good.
To put simply, while I dont enjoy being called a baby killer, or a puppet, or anything else like that. I did fight for their right to do so. Just because I dont agree with what they are saying, it doesnt make it wrong... or right. Both sides are OPINIONS. Opinions can neither be right nor wrong, but are subjective.
Mike, I think we all know you came in here trolling.
And everyone else: If you don't like it, dont reply! Dont read it!

I'm gonna weigh in here. I read every page and honestly I have to say that Mike Nobody made some good points, but you all got so angry you couldn't see that. I don't agree with calling servicemen "Suckers" or "Hired Killers" but much of what he said was on point.

My dad fought in the Korean War and I should let him get on here and talk to you all because put it this way, a recruiter came to my house from the Air Force and he chased the guy out of the house and said no daughter of his would ever go in the military.

Long time ago, fighting and defending your country was an honorable deed. Hitler, yes, that's what I call defending your country, or the world for the matter. I would honestly say it was the last time our soldiers got treated the way they should have been treated.

Nam, sorry, shouldn't have went on as long as it did. America thought it was gonna go over there whoop ass and come back in time for dinner. If that wasn't a big clusterfuck of underestimation, I don't know what is. What made it so bad, it was so racially prejudice - calling them a bunch of dumb gooks. Yeah, well, look what happened? Not so dumb, huh? However, let's get real. America was trying to do the England thing and collect countries and be the world's police and a super power. Well that sh*t only works so long before it gets too expensive. Even England said "f**k it" and dumped all their countries.

I really feel for the soldiers, I honestly do. I appreciate their service and the fact that they can swallow their fear and face death on a daily basis. I've been involved with projects that ship essential oils overseas to help with stress, and just this year I gave a talk at Camp Pendleton about how to use aromatherapy to help ease stress and traumatic instances.

But what I don't agree with it has nothing to do with them, I don't agree with our government fighting for bullshit causes and putting these people's lives in unnecessary danger! I don't agree with involving ourselves in the government of another country because you want their resources! And it pisses me off to high hell that because I speak out against a war that I'm against servicemen. No stupid, I'm against the folks calling the shots.

The Taliban, yes, they're a threat; however, what the f**k were we doing in Iraq? The Bush Administration used 9/11 to whip Americans up into a bloodthirsty frenzy, to agree with the war then they decide to detour and take out a man who THEY PUT INTO POWER, all because Saddam didn't want to be their little putz and told them to f**k off. Yes, he used America just as what? America used him? Surprised? Hell no. Again our bigwigs get blinded by thinking their dicks are the biggest, and get surprised when they find out the wife has been cheating on them. Oh, say it isn't so!

As an American I was mad that instead of going after Bin Laden like we were told they were going to do, they go after Saddam Hussein? He's the world's greatest threat because he tortures people? Hello, he's a f**k dictator, that's what they do. They do some f**k up sh*t, but hey, the Shiites, the Sunnis and the Kurds have been killing each other since Muhammad died. It ain't gonna change. Not our problem, man. If you want to go after royal assholes who don't play well with others, how about we go to Burma or the atrocities that happened in Somalia? Why? There's nothing in it for us, so don't give me this bullshit about Saddam being Hiter.

But the real reason was wars make money and the Bush Administration was making cash, and that's all they cared about. His cabinet were on the Boards of Directors of every defense company over there, making bank. Then they want to show me their tax forms. f**k you. I've worked with rich people all my life, like they don't know how to hide money. It isn't that hard to have a hidden foreign bank account. Geez. Give me a break!

Meanwhile, our soldiers get dumped back over here with little or no benefits, shell shocked and traumatized from what they saw. Gee, son, thanks, but you either buck it up or hold a cardboard sign out on the side of the freeway, you're done.

Doesn't that piss you off? This person risked his life and you can't even take care of him? Even the people who cleaned up Ground Zero, the Republicans just voted NOT to extend their benefits, another f**k you, but hey let's build a mosque down the street, that'll bring in some cash.

Just yesterday, I found out that there's a huge clusterfuck over at Arlington Cemetery. A lot of mishandling of remains, people aren't buried where they're supposed to be, urns dug up and discarded "accidentally." Geez, even if you're dead they can't treat you right.

I just like to see people do things right, that's all. I'm angry and venomous because this is stuff that shouldn't be happening.

In gratitude, we'll spit on you and call you babykillers.

There's been a lot of dispute as to if any soldier was actually ever spit on. The press has manufactured this legend to discredit the anti-war movement.

Now this isn't to say that the soldiers in the Vietnam era didn't take unwarranted abuse. But as the post below points out what hippie is going to give a battle hardened soldier abuse to his face.

Having said that, I very much appreciate the soldiers that do battle so I don't have to, they deserve my thanks.

It's the governments that use them up, don't take care of them after they've used them up, and put them in harms way for less than critical reasons that I have a problem with.

Chaeya, Viet Nam became racial, in essense, because we were at war. You don't give your enemy touchie-feelie nicknames. They're Yankee Doodles, or redcoats, or commie bastards, or gooks or chinks or whatever. It is the nature of conflict between nations that there must arise some sort of derogatory epithet for your enemy.

Even those of Asian descent were using those same epithets for the enemy.

The job of soldier IS one that could be called "hired killer," by definition. It isn't necessarily a bad thing, either.

Mike - I don't believe that there are any positions in the armed service called "conscientious objector." The conscientious objectors of the past were ppl who avoided being drafted into the armed service, often by going through hell to do so. Some of them were experimented on, to see how various interrogation techniques work on ppl, for instance. Others, during WWII, went through the same conditions that our servicemen went through in nazi & Japanese prison camps. These ppl are also unsung heroes, btw. They served without breaking their personal belief systems, went through pure hell, & helped our side to learn what our service personel were going through, & what treatments would be necessary for them when they returned to us, at a huge personal cost.

Who you calling a bitch and who the f**k are you calling fat? It better not be me.

How the f**k can you call me fat? I'm a size 6-8, you son-of-a-bitch. That's the problem with you white boys, you want those walking size 0 sticks and got women thinking that's the ideal woman. f**k you!

I DIDN'T MOCK ANY SOLDIER AND I DIDN'T CALL ANY ONE A BABY KILLER. YOU OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T READ MY POST AND JUST CHOSE TO POP IN WITH YOU LOUD MOUTH AND DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE f**k TALKING ABOUT.

I PERIODICALLY SEND AROMATHERAPY SUPPLIES OVERSEAS TO THE SOLDIERS, f**k, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
