Some cities are fair-weather sports cities. They gladly support winning teams and abndon them when they start losing. When I first moved to K.C. in 1987 the Chiefs were perenial losers and often games at Arrowhead Stadium were 3/4 empty. When Marty Shottenheimer started coaching the Chiefs and they made the playoffs every year that's when the Chiefs started selling out. Conversely when I got here the Royals had just won a World Series a few years before and were still a big draw. Now the Royals have been doormats for years and Royas stadium is empty. Kansas City IS a fair weather sports town, too many good barbecue places to eat. Why go see the Royals lose when you can eat at Oklahoma Joe's barbecue for example?

Vikings football practice was delayed 2 hours after a player found an
unknown white powdery substance on the field. Coach Childress
immediately suspended practice and called the police. After analysis,
FBI experts determined that the white substance unknown to players was
...the GOAL LINE. Practice resumed after the FBI agents said the team was
unlikely to encounter the substance again
