Has anyone followed this at all?

Ive been seriously thinking about attending one, specifically on ein New York in Jan. Roger Daltry is the guest artist and you get to Play My Generation with him in front of a live audience. Looks like a once in the lifetime experience.

Just curious what folks on here think about it!?

Gawd! How hard up is Roger Daltry? Then again, he was never all that cool to begin with. Lots of great bands have one or two guys who are total tools; Paul McCartney, Robert Plant, John Lydon, etc.

Man all I can say is that scream in Wont Get Fooled Again is all I have to hear from Daltry.

You must have a really shitty life Mike, whenever your post come up its all negative crap. I think Daltry and the others you mentioned have earned thier place, what have you done lately that matters to anyone but yourself? HUH

LOL

Go suck on an inhaler dude! Now that right there was the most classic thing Ive ever seen from some sort of wanna be in my life! ha ha ha

I didn't say Daltry couldn't SING. McCartney could sing. Plant could sing. Lydon could...oh, well, nevermind.

Negative crap? How do you think we got a stupid band name like NegativeM+?

Of course, I'm not COMPLETELY negative. So, there's a small positive sign there.

Shitty life? Sure. But, I still laugh anyway from the Briar Patch. I even recorded a song called "Rub Salt In The Wound Until It Tickles!"

Being insulted about my accomplishments, from an anonymous musician no one ever heard of, in an online forum isn't really going to bother me. I've got a modicum of local notoriety I can build on. I have no interest in gaining the level of mainstream approval a person like that would covet anyway. You can keep the fame. Pay me.

Rock and roll fantasy camp reminds me of baseball fantasy camp. The Kansas City Royals runs one every year. I would love the chance to bat against Bret Saberhagen. Just as you would love to perform in a band with Roger Daltry, despite his being a "tool." Paul McCartney wasn't a bad tool either. There's probably about a 99.99% chance that Mike Nobody will not earn in the music business a tiny fraction of the interest that Paul McCartney has earned off his interest in the music business. I wouldn't mind being a "tool" myself someday...

It's no trick to make a lot of money, if all you want to do is make a lot of money.
"Everett Sloane" in Citizen Kane

As long as the music is good and expenses get paid I'm pretty happy with it. :D

Mike sorry I slid into negativity land with you.

I do get paid on a regular basis to play music in a weekend warrior band. I figure over the years Ive been paid to play somewhere around 1500 gigs, not much for a professional musician, but for someone that has two kids is a single parent, owns and runs a variety of business's, I think I do pretty good. My band has a lot of local noteriety that goes back close to 25 yrs. But so what?

I just sense a tendency to slam other musicians when you respond to post. Forgive me but I dont think I care to see your youtubes videos cause I dont link off to stuff people post. If what you are doing works for you then Im happy as a fee lark for ya.

Back to the original thread. This camp does cost a lot of money to participate in, and many on here will diss me for that. I should get paid to play with them. Fine sometimes you have to pay to play, just part of it. I havent fully made my mind up and its not the money cause i have that to splurge on this if I want too. From watching the show on VH1 I think I could go on there and kick some f**k ass, plain and simple. Ive got my chops and I know how to use them. Thru the years my band has played and still plays a lot of WHO music. The only better deal for me would be to play with Plant and Page, and I seem to remember that folks paid small fortunes to just see that one off concert they did. I didnt understand that, spending money to do that. But to pay money to play onstage in New York City Time Square with Daltry, yea Im willing to do that just to do it. And the chance to have Rudy Sarzo or Kip Winger as my band manager and get to play music for 10 hours a day appeals to me very much. And if I do do this I can tell my bandmix FRIENDS that I will represent the hell out of you and make you proud!

Well, that's one John. Thanks! You're one of the good guys.

Actually I'd like to host a Bandmix Fantasy Camp, we could have a blast.

jimmy, I'd have to try to find a way to that one!

JW - go for it! You'd do well, & Daltry would no doubt appreciate your abilities!
