It would be foolish to presume politicians, especially career politicians, do not have as much a love of money, the root of all evil, as corporate execs do. There is little, if any, difference.

Government cannot be the answer to any problems simply because politicians no longer understand the role of LIMITED government as the Founders put it in place. Problems between corporations and the people should be settled in courts. That was the Founders plan, but courts are as jaded and corrupt as the rest of the system. Still, allow the people to express themselves in whatever way they deem fit, rather than have another generation after another dependent on the federal, state and local ever changing politician roster.

The 16th amendment, I believe, allows the fed to collect taxes on income. Do you know what the percentages were when that amendment went into place, compared to what government steals from "the people" who make the money now?

I believe Washington, DC may be the most corrupt city on the planet at this point. It would behoove the American people to vote out every, single incumbent and start with entirely new people, demand term limits, and keep the federal government, and state and local LIMITED by the Constitution or be rejected and ejected by "the people." Then repeal every single law which is not under the limitations of the Constitution. Let the pot boil, but let the actual system work it all out and ultimately everyone will be better off, despite whatever evil exists in the hearts and minds of men to try and control others by political power or money.

There is Americanism. There is Statism, Fascism, Socialism, Communism, etc. I would choose Americanism under any set of circumstances. Any, and it will always prove better for Americans.

And perhaps before someone may ask what Americanism means, I will explain what it means to me, anyway. I have seen it defined as love of country, but that is patriotism. I have seen it defined as trying to culturize the rest of the planet with the American culture, but that is empire building.

To me, Americanism means loving and adhering to the principles which made the United States of America the UNITED STATES of America. It is not the united federal government of America. It is the United States of America. STATES have ultimate authority over their citizenry, by their own Constitutions under the Federal Constitution.

Americanism was a brand new type of governance. No kings (or a bunch of mini-kings), no imperial dictation, nothing of the kind. A government WHOLLY under the control of the free and liberty laden people. Almost entirely self-governed upon their own property, self-reliant, accountable to law only when Constitutionally provisioned laws are broken. The idea that elected civil servants can dictate to Americans what kind of light bulb to use, what a man can and cannot do upon and to his own private property, what kind of cars Americans drive, the gasoline put in them, food they eat, homes they live in, ... there is not a single area of life federal civil servants have not moved in on which would have gotten them removed from office at gun point 200 years ago.

"The people" have allowed this to happen, decade after sorry decade of un-constitutional existence, while decade after decade of children have been dumbed down as to what Americanism truly is in the general school system, filled with teachers and especially leaders who do not honor Americanism. Today's America is not Americanism on display. Anything but. It could be said once the Founders all passed away things began going downhill and away from true Americanism. But the 20th century certainly takes the lion's share for usurpation by elected civil servants.

Love of God, love of country, love of freedom, liberty, justice, personal pursuit of happiness unfettered by laws of whimsy by limitless rulers ... just read the Declaration of Independence. That is Americanism on display.

That's very true, and it's about the same today. A third like big government, a third don't, a third not sure and just go along with some things, decide against others.
