Yes, it's time for me to get off my butt and get back to work.
Been on a little "fret board vacation" since the recording session.
Two more gigs to do. Then I hope for a little peace.
Don't get me wrong, I love gigs ( recording too but it is stressful ).
But I have two more tunes we are revamping I need to write solo's for.

Do you guys n gals find it helpful to just back off a bit to regain perspective ?

Yep.
I can't really write, or finish writing, unless I take a day or two off.
By a day or two off, I mean that I don't even touch a guitar.

Absolutely! My band was gigging like 6 times a month for about two years straight. A few months ago, we decided to take some time off since we we're getting pretty burnt. Now we're getting ready to hit it again, and I am rested and pumped up and can't wait to get back out!

8) Oh most definitely. Stepping away from yourself, musically, can help you to improve. Something, mentally refreshing happens from stepping back. The olde stuff gets a chance to settle and which gives you space to move on to the next musical project.

Same is true for the warriors arts Mary.
Perhaps all things that require unity of mind, body, and spirit.
