That's a ploy by the government to condition people to believe that as long as we pay them (screw ourselves), they'll "let" us do something that we already have every human right to do.
Why would we compromise on this basic human right and personal responsibility issue?!

You can believe that the tobacco companies are fully ready to start selling weed as soon as it becomes legal. You can surely grow your own, but it is going to become readily available from the tobacco companies and yes, many millions of dollars in taxes will be collected from its sale.

The first thing that should be done is legalize Pot and prostitution, The "moralistic" crimes. There's a significant portion of the prison population right there. It would free up police resources and then the criminals wouldn't be the ones getting rich. And some of those dollars would be going to taxes.

Ronnie may have escalated it to where it is now. But, the Nixon administration really got the ball rolling. Before him, Harry J. Anslinger changed the Bureau of Prohibition into the Treasury Department's Federal Bureau of Narcotics.

The reason marijuana is illegal has nothing to do with its safeness or being a "gateway" drug. In certain users, it causes nonconformist thought patterns, and our government wants a populace of conformists. Again, this is in only some users, others it just makes hungry, lazy or sleepy. But those nonconformists can cause big trouble, especially when they try to organize and change the establishment.
