Lately I've been going through the early Aerosmith catalog and I'm noticing things in the music that were overlooked before. This time around, the music has started to influence me a lot more.

So what records have you guys been dusting off these days?

No one in particular, but lately I went through an 80's new wave flashback. I guess I could count Duran Duran in the list-as I was listening to a lot of their tunes. Also Toto. In a lot of cases, I've been searching for live vids of older bands (more recent performances), just to see how their sounds have changed and also to experience a side of a lot of bands that I never go to see: the live aspect.
Say what you will about 80's music, but I loved the sound. It may not have been the guitar-driven ROCK & ROLL!! that so many people are drawn to, but it replaced that with textures-and at the same time, offered a sonic variety that, IMO, was badly needed.

Diferent genres that I've not listened to much before, different bands; Ben Harper and the Relentless 7, Project 86, Israel Houghton, and, of course my favorite vocalist; Chris Cornell.

My listening habits haven't changed much. A little bit of everything. Although, I notice when I sell some of my records I end up buying 'em again cuz I actually end up missing Olivia Newton-John and the Bee Gees. Also, as I got older, some bands I hated as a kid kinda grew on me; Fleetwood Mac, Rush, Billy Squier, etc. Odd.

A buddy of mine treated me to a Kiss/Aerosmith concert that he's won tickets for at an auction, and Aerosmith blue me away. The main thing I noticed is how well they played the blues. And Steven Tyler is just as rock star as they come...

I just got reacquainted this week with an old Poco record. Great stuff...

You mention Old Aerosmith, we practiced last week and pulled Train Kept A Rollin out of the hat, and if you want heavy listen to Nobodys Fault, thats one of the heaviest sounding songs Ive ever heard, and i get to hear all the latest thru my 18 yr old.

Im listening to more R&B type material.

Al Green, Temptations, and then Sly and The Family Stone.

Dont knwo why but lately that is what has been moving me!

All this R&B talk has me thinking about listening to my Earth Wind and Fire collection.

I've just started listening to Blind Lemon Jefferson. My musical ear is travelling in different directions as of lately.

Been too busy enjoying HALEAMANO's CD of late.

Unfortunately the CD player in my Jeep wont eject :(

I guess 6 years of dirt and vibration have taken their tole.
Most always drive with the back and side windows open and my poor ride is filthy from it.

Fortunately I was able to salvage 2112.
