I took a first try at the 2 solos up until the harmony parts (haven't figured them out yet) Both solos were through a Fender Champ, first part with a Les Paul, second part with a Fender Esquire.

Sounds good DJax the feel of the tune and the sound its there.

I've listened to the backing track again by itself what I don't hear is the acoustic guitar arpeggio played by Glen F. in the original a major component of that song IMO.

I know you got the track off the net.
Good luck with the rest of the project.

Thanks JH...Now that I've listened to it a few times, I really wish I had of waited till I learned the harmony parts, because we all know how frustrating things can be when they stop just before they peak! 8)

One of these days I'm going to send you a completed original track that just needs a solo and let you sear you mark into it. 8)

It's a funny thing I'm running into lately that none of my larger amps record as "big" as my Fender Champ. Now that amp ain't so hot if you're going for a super clean sound, but anything from a bit of grit to all out fuzz fest, the Champ is THE machine to use. I think maybe the fact that I have a Celestion G8S-50 in that amp helps the bottom end from flabbing out when recording. What size of amp have y'all had good results with for getting the tone onto the tape?
