Well this is definitely my next guitar karaoke project. Check out the backing track I found online that I'm gonna use. Not sure if it is the actual Eagles track, or a cover. If it's a cover it sounds pretty damn close! I figure a Les Paul through a fuzz box for the Felder solos, and a Tele through a phase shifter into a cranked Champ Amp for the Walsh solos will get the job done. Of course actually learning the solos again is the first step!

Of course doing the harmony leads simultaneously will be a challenge (I kid).

You remind me of the guy that taught me how to play. He could learn any Hendrix or Winter solo even if it took him a week. Me, I'd rather get the gist of it, add my twist and move on.

I second that motion, I like to have some freedom in my leads, having said that I do appreciate what DJax does especially with the almost faithful reproduction of the guitar sound.

Well what it is JD...getting the tone as close as I can is like doing a puzzle to me (I'm a crossword fanatic) I really get a kick out of listening the original, then putting on the old thinking cap and figuring out what I can do with my available gear to nail the particular sound as best I can. Once I get the sound I'm happy with, the puzzle still isn't complete without learning to actually play the part fairly close to the record. I thought maybe some of the other players here might like to add the guitars to this track too. That's why I posted it before I added my noodling on top of it.
P.S. What do you reckon? Is this the actual Eagles recording sans lead guitars? The more I listen to it the more I'm convinced that it is.
