Ahhhh... The carefree single days when all you needed was a part time job and was able to put ALLL your time into your craft! We did many a show waaay back when and started going the original route and were getting offers from all sides but it wasn't meant to be, I guess, as my singer got super duper addicted to blow and started pulling "no-shows" and just gave up... We tried for a while to find a replacement to no avail and finally realized I better go get myself a full time job and never really ever got to that point in my musical life ever again! What a shame... all the many years and all the hours and travel, etc... put into that project only to dissolve within weeks!

Well anywayz... go on my profile and take a listen to the 2 songs I wrote....they were not professionally recorded... these were just done in my friends basement and then we were gonna go into the studio and start layin' out the big bux for the pro recording...Whew... Thank God we didn't go that far.... what a freakin' waste that would've been! I can't believe the radio station actually used our crappy recording on air though!

I liked them. You had a good band bro. Pretty good arrangements too, but the melody line needed to be tweaked in places, I think, and it could have been better. Pretty good, for recording in a basement in '84. ;-)

Is that you, wailing the solos?

Yeah ... sounds like the 80's to me.
Really up beat tunes with high pitched vocals.

I think you should not have given up Crip.

Just my two cents.

Very good Crip! Dreams has a sound similar to Triumph. In Find Your Way your lead playing is remeniscint of Neal Sean!
I bet you were bummed when that band broke up. You pour your heart and soul into a project just to watch the whole thing explode right before your eye's! I think thats what they mean when they say "you have to pay your dues"
You definately have something to be proud of in that recording even if it was in a friends basement!

Thanx guys... When my present wife heard those recordings about 4 years ago, she went out and bought me a guitar and amp... I haven't played for over 2 decades before I started up again... I warned her if she got me started again I wouldn't let it go! lol Yes Craig.. That's me doing all the guitars just overdubbed the leads in after the rhythm track... was very simple back then... cut and clean... I can't imagine how far that band would've gone if we didn't stop as we were starting to get gigs and offers left and right... was almost a dream come true

I got to listen to these when first met you. I thought they were pretty damn good then so if you need your ego stroked again,,, there pretty damn good now.
Just one thing has changed. It is to bad you didn't have Chaeya sing Dream. I think she would have pushed it over the top and this conversation would have never happened. You wouldn't be talking with us little people.

Any time you want to start an original concert only band let me know.

Triumph.

My thoughts exactly.

Don't want to get any "Cover Players" panties in a twist here.
Think I've made it clear how much I respect the ability to play at that level well.

But ...

I agree with Glen.

No, really Kerry ... IMO your wasting all that talent you have.

Thanx Sans... problem here is that there is no money to be made in the clubs doing strictly originals and I'm too old to try and "make it" and invest tons of time money in to recording, promoting,etc.. I just wanna have a blast wailing on stage! I know my limitations at this juncture of my life... I can't rehearse or record or gig on weekdays....strictly a Friday or Saturday night performer...

Yeah but even a project band ,getting together every couple of weeks, with good players, can put together a two hour show, without much problem.

Not to put any damper on your bar gigs I think thats great. You have to admit that it always comes back to doing your own songs.

Kerry, it is tough road to hold, because you are absolutely right about the fun you can have when play the bars. Then you get that little voice in the back of your head.

Good writing and playing Crip. I love having a REALLY GREAT guitar sharing the stage because it opens up so many possibilities and expands everything.

I'm rambling right now, so I'm gonna stop. Keep rockin', talk soon.

I understand and totally respect your opinion ... except.

It's never "too late" and as long as your above ground and have the physical / mental ability.

YOUR NOT TOO OLD !

No doubt odds change with age, but wisdom should increase as well.
If you can assign the choice totally to choosing and not fate, you can be at peace about it.

Thanks, Chip for the ride down memory land. I miss hearing songs with some lyrics that actually say something to me. You're stuff sounds better than what I heard last night.

I looooved Dream. Great sound on the guitar. Yeah, I could wail away on that, but I do think it's better sorted for a man's voice. It reminded me of Tangerine Dream. To me, it doesn't sound very dated and with a little tweaking you could re-release it now.

I can see how they got radio play in the 80's. The right person could have promoted that to national airing.

Good Job!
