I saw on another thread a few were discussing the idea of sub-boards allowing state-by-state listings ..... perhaps if Bandmix were to add such sub-boards it may be a tad easier to find people in your local area. Maybe a few words with management will help you out some.....
Good Luck everyone.

Hey alen, welcome back! Thought Irminsul got rid of you, but you're here once again! State by state listings... in the forum? That might be cool, but I haven't seen many oregonians here so for some states it might be a waste of time. There are state by state listings telling where members are and what kind of music they play, I find that feature really helpful so I don't know about the merits of adding state sub-boards... prehaps a trial period would help? Or bring it up in a user poll?

I'd started a thread called "CT musicians, post here. But - CT musicians just started new postings, instead.
You'd have to set it up in such a manner that it'd get used . . .

Well ... i'm not sure which of your points to reply to first .... lol...
Cyclegirl has an interesting point ... state by state sub boards could be great for some states but perhaps a waste of time and space for other states.. as maybe they won't even be used... so .... which states would you add and not add ...
On the other hand ... like bluerock pointed out .... having state by state listings may be a waste of time because they won't be used properly. I've noticed alot on different forums that some people like to add their own thread maybe hoping their message will be notice faster in its own thread than being amongst 300 other messages in a designated thread.
So organizing state by state listings ..... could be a task.

Not sure if your interested or not ... but I may be designing a Musicians Database soon.......
I travel around to alot of musicians sites and notice people from this area and that area ... and just like here at bandmix ... they too are looking for particular people in all different areas with different skills.
Not sure if I'll be starting the Database or not .... its of interests ... but is alot of work being that I have to acquire permission from each person I add to the database before I can add them. .... and that could take forever and a day longer than hell freezing over at the end of eternity ... lol..
But it is something i'm considering.

Life is stranger than fiction.
Back to jamming wednesday nights at my favorite little bar on the outside of Quakertown, PA. (Sounds prim and proper, doesn't it?) lol
I'd rather have a steady line up and be completely unknown.

Just new to this site...I will give it a chance.
Got most of my bites from Kijiji.ca lately.
I also ended up putting my email address on my profile information.

Actually I did find a bass player, from this site, a year or 2 back.
I drove an hour to play with him; he was good, and wanted to record a bunch of my stuff at his home-studio (which I didn't know about).
But (and get this) he refused to do any driving.
He expected me to drive to his house ALL the time, and leave recordings of my music behind so he learn the songs . . .
But he would never have to drive to my place?
Ha; I think not.
That would be a pretty sweet deal for him, huh?
He was good, but not THAT good.
Very, very few people are THAT good . . .
