Thanks for posting that Mary. It gives me hope that I can find a band like that to play for. I'm of a similar age and girth as the fellows you are playing with there. 8)

Mary that looks like it was a great gig and a great bunch of people! It would be so cool to have a flute player in the band. I bet you know all of Ian Andersons stuff. I played with a guy that plays flute he actually in a distorted way becomes Ian on stage and this guy is the best Harmonica player I have ever heard. He does an unbievable version of Whama Jama!

Jeff, that gig was a blast. When the guys know that I am coming to sit-in, they save Locomotive Breath for me. I also get to play Moondance, Layla, Can't You See. I would love to play Freebird. I also play a very cool original that is a jazzy ballad. Since I have had some inspiration form the flute convention, I think this next concert will be my best ever.

I would love to play "My God" and Manic Depression.

I love playing with these guys. There was another regular venue where people would come and bring their axes...kinda like a karaoke night. THat's how I became a regular. Their tips went up when I sat in with them. So, the leader just reaches into the tip jar and just hand me a fist full of bills.

I have many friends who are herded into their classical music stables would not even consider playing rock music but claim to play various forms of music. If that makes any sense. They've spent years improving their skills on identifying keys but they don't really put them to use.

I almost played with Shredd's band, HaleMano, a few weeks ago but there was a schedule change.

I love Moondance that is one of my all time favs! At last nights gig its funny because out there in the audience there was this one guy saying FREEBIRD! The funny thing is I know that song NOTE FOR NOTE slide and all. I swore back in 1984 I would never play that song again. Then one night a guy offered us a 100 bucks to play it.Well the rest is history! 8)

Moondance is one of my favorites and was thrilled to hear that this band played it. Here's the funny thing backatcha...you know how people are always yelling out for that song. I had no idea what Freebird was. Then about a month ago, I hear Lynard Skynard sing it which is when it hit me what that song was. I think that is such a pretty song, I would love to do it.
