Been away to Florida checking on my folks. My father was deathly ill a little over a year ago, we almost lost him. He's really slowing down. He was a workaholic his entire life. I thought he wouldn;t mkae it long after retirement but he's surprised me. Anyway, I haven't checked in to Bandmix for almost a week. Hopefully everybody's doing well here. I'm looking forward to get into the studio again and hammer out our CD SOON. Everybody in the band is on the same page. We're going to record 12 originals and I hope to have it completed by Christmas. I'll keep you posted...

Glad you and your dad are ok.

You didn't miss much except the usual compliment of beggars and bitchers.

(I'm a bitcher/moaner/whiner) LOL and I like it, like it, yes I do..

My parents have a small pond right behind their house which is part of the golf course right behind their house. I can walk less than fifty feet and start casting. I did catch some small largemouth (5-8 inches) and had one on about 2 1/2 pounds that fell off. I also caught a few really tiny sunfish that I believe were fliers. I never caught one before but I looked them up and that's probably what they were. I saw a few butterfly peacock bass but couldn't get one to strike. About four years ago I caught one there. They are a beautiful, hard fighting fish, and apparently good eating. When I was there a year ago I caught nothing as the homeowner's association puts weed killer in the pond which is used to water the lawns. There was a lot more weeds in the pond this year, therefore more fish. What alarms me most about my trip is almost the complete lack of birds. In past years the birds were everywhere. I didn't see hardly any this time. I wonder what is going on to reduce their numbers. Perhaps the three hurricanes that went through there the last four or five years killed a bunch of them. I don't know but it's alarming to me.

FB, I did notice after Ike hit down here that there weren't as many birds. It was very wierd right after the storm there were not any birds. Slowly they started to return. Now 2 years after the storm all the birds are back. I just figured that there is a great loss of the birds habitat (trees) after a hurricane and that was the reason for the loss of birds. Bob those birds may be drinking that pond water with the weed killer in it.
