You have to have thick skin if you want to play music in public. We all love the acclamation but are sometimes uneasy with the criticism. When you put yourself on display you are going to get both. Then there are people who dislike you simply because you are too good. Go figure....

Yeah but just because a dude is quiet calm and genteel doesn't mean he isn't egotistical. I've encountered more bullshit from people like this with their snobbery. I work in a law office and there are bunches of people like this and for some people it works and others, it doesn't. They can be just as annoying as loud braggarts.

Just because a musician comes out and says he or she can bring it doesn't mean they're being egotistical. You want something to happen, there are some times you got to go out there and open your mouth, it's all in how you say it.

You do something, do it well and be proud of it. And this isn't about that old dude that did just a little too much speed in the day and can't stop talking less than 80mph about everything he did and all the famous people he knows.

The answer to the original question is: HELL NO!!! I actually want a female vocalist. Preferrebly one who could play bass too(but not relevent). I'll play in an all female group, they can kick ass like anyone else! Maybe we need more women in music at this time. Personally, I think my band relationship would be great with a female/females around since I was raised around them. I tend to form a lot of brother/sister type bonds. I love women!

Oh hell, this girl ran off! A little encouragement wouldn't help in her case cause discouragement is inevitible in music...even if you're famous.

But I'll say what I was going to anyways: 37 is NOT too young to do it...there are no numbers. The criteria has to be that you look good, look younger, and are in shape.

I'm in my 30's and they still card me, call it good genetics(thanks mom) a youthful attitude, and God restoring my youth. But who has to know how long I've been alive? And if I appear younger and play better at my age them I'm definitely at an advantage. Plus, I've taken enough bashings and criticism to actually find it amusing at times. I think starting a new band would be perfect for me right now. I'm more prepared than ever in every way I can be.
