I'm in KS, and I do write my own music but I love to play some very old and forgotten bluegrass. Most of the time I give it alittle help to make more with today's troubles. PS I also love some of the old
time religion songs. most of the time they mean the same today as back then.

I like to go play at a small jam session that's mostly for seniors here in Lansing. They play a lot of the old bluegrass, standards, etc. And even a bar-hardened vet can pick up some pointers from the older folks. That's where you really find out how much you DON'T know about the roots/basics of guitar/music. Really cool people there who like to see younger blood show up. Some of these people were college music profs, for goodness sakes! And many STILL have some very hot chops. (And no I don't qualify for the senior discount yet! Although my profile states otherwise haha.) But these kind folks will let anyone sit in. I really have to get back over there and see if they're still doing the jams, been over a year now.
