I'm looking into fixing up my Marshall cab. I've repaired the tolex, but I'm sure it will rip again, plus I want to give the cab a cool look. I've been on Google for days and can only find mediocre stuff.

Does anyone know of any places that sell unusual and unique upholstery? Many thanks in advance!

This site may have you considering changing the look of your cab.

I actually thought about getting a leopard print for my cab. Either that or a brown ostrich cover. I want something that's really going to stand out but doesen't look glam either.

My Marshall cab will eventually be bronze! It's a ballsy move, if I can find more of a copper or worn penny look then I'll get that.

opinions anyone?

There's more, and I'm VERY undecided. Sorry to keep bumping my thread. I was thinking that maybe you guys might even want to restore your cabs with some of these options.

Dude, make sure your amp/cabs sound the way you want and then leave them alone.

What it looks like is not very relevant to how they sound.

My stuff looks like sh*t, but when I start wailing the doubts fall away like dead leaves.

The trouble is if no one can hear you wail, it doesn't exist.

It's a similar twist to, "if a tree falls in the woods".....

You know what Capt., I thought about what I wanted to do, but I see no reason in making my cabs look pretty. Black is neutral, and looks best on my Marshall. If the torlex rips again, I'll just patch it up like Frankenstein.

When you look at the photos of us playing you cant really tell the 40 year old equipment from the new stuff.
Up close, yeah you can see all the road rashes. Even with that, most often people are impressed with our gear.

Sorry, coming from the girl of the bunch and being that I love clothes, here are my picks:

1. GS Canyon - nice

2. Emporer Vinyl Copper or the Bronz (here you have to look in your wardrobe and see which matches your outfits - sorry, I don't know how to make this sound very manly) - I really liked these.

3. Rogue Vinyl Tobacco RU 890 (again based on your wardrobe)

They could be dipped in gold, if you sound like sh*t, you sound like sh*t.

Yeah, but then you got all that gold, & that's pretty cool, too...

Philby, you turkey..

If you had the choice of a cab that sounded good but looked like hell and vice versa, you going to stand here and tell me you would even give the gold one a chance knowing it didn't sound good?

Don't lie.

Yeah, but wouldn't buy the one that sounded the best and looked like sh*t and then dress it up in gold? Just sayin'

Sarcasm, Cap...I don't dress to compliment my burgundy bass, or my bronze Dano, or my spruce-top Dean, either. (& before you say it...no, I don't often take the Dano out of the case - I use the black on black Strat most often)

I'm not very good at color-coordination. See, I have this red/green problem, cuz I'm a lil bit color blind, so I solve the problem by wearing multi-colored daishikis all the time.

If I had gold-plated amps that sounded like poop, I might just go ahead & lug 'em out to show 'em off, but I'd prolly be using the good stuff, hidden in the wings or something. I doubt I'd do it more than once, though, cuz that'd be a lot of heavy sh*t, wouldn't it?

One of the coolest things I ever did in a band, though, was to HIDE most of the equipment with sheets of fabric draped everywhere, along with a cool backdrop. It looked like a 60's TV studio set.

I hate to admit it from the "guy" stand point.

But I often wear a dark color shirt so my LP stands out in the photo contrast.
