Wow, I have daddy longleg pets in my bathroom. I let them crawl in my hand and I help them out of the shower so they won't get squished. I like spiders. I mostly just swoop them up in a glass and plop them outside, the big black ones.

GDL's group up sometimes in the hundreds on our homes down here.
They have a voracious apatite.
They also secrete a tea colored fluid from their bodies that stinks really bad.
We just generally ignore them.
Tons of insects in East Texas.

I was just over a friends house getting some wood for my building. As I was lugging some 14 foot 2 x 6's, I happened to glance down to see 6 Black Widow spiders on the board, & one on my arm.

I don't wanna talk about spiders no more!

Actually, I found it quite rewarding to squish the lil bastids before they could make some sort of mistake & bite me...& I'm not sorry I did it, neither!

I've already lost one bout with a venomous beastie...don't want no mo'.

Phil, you run more of a risk getting bitten when you squish them than just letting them walk off your arm onto something else.

Actually, Chaeya, I find that, with my usual luck, I am far more likely to be bitten or stung by a critter by being in the wrong place at the right time. Thus, I find it far safer to rid myself of their very presense, when I become aware of it.

I got bitten by a copperhead when I couldn't even see it. I've been attacked by wasps just for walking out my front door. I won't tolerate the possibility of having critters hit me, git me, bite me, scratch me, or sting me, when I can avoid it.

When I was a kid, in the Boy Scouts, at camp one time, there was a kid who walked up to our cabin carrying a copperhead like it was his pet. Some ppl have it...some don't. I don't.

I like furry things, as a rule, & can deal with them very well, as a rule. Bugs, spiders, reptiles & birds are alien creatures to me. (I really hate birds, for some reason - I think it's cuz they have alien eyes & icky feets!). These critters are all fine & dandy in their own element. Near me or ON me, however, is not in their range, as far as I'm concerned.

The worst critter of all, of course, is the white-tail deer. Hates 'em, we does, my precious!

I'm sorry you got bad juju Phil. Just stick a pineapple on your front porch and every day for a week, go to it and say "I love critters and critters love me." Then eat the pineapple. You'll be everyone's friend after that.

I love critters, Glen. As a kid, I used to get in trouble for throwing worms on girls.
