This looks like it might be a viable method:

They are apparently associated with Bandmix.

You could do it yourself (buy web design software/domain name registration/web hosting, etc.), but this is much easier. For $130 a year, it ain't bad.
You would pay that much just for web hosting.

It really depends on how much you want to do online and how tech savvy you are. If you just need a place that people end up when they type in "bluefintuna.com" then any number of the many site builders will work. If you have SEO (search engine optimization) concerns (for example, if someone searches for Kansas blues bands) then be prepared to invest more.

Check out http://www.godaddy.com/search/domains.a ... goaf2001ab for cheap domain name registration and hosting.

Really? Godaddy? I thought they were just for soft-core porn, after watching their TV commercials!

Bob, there's many variables..
well ,ok two really.

1) how much money(if any) is going to be applied to this
2) are there any technical limitations as far as who is doing it?

if #1 is very low to none, then Workpress & find a good template & modify to suit.
unless #2 is almost no technical ability...
then, #1 needs to change.

I use Yahoo for web hosting at about $8 a month, unlimited data storage, php enabled and includes all the email and search engine add-on programs. For designing my website, I use Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver. Theses programs come in what they call a "Creative Suite" and can cost more than $500. It might be cheapest to buy the web hosting and then hire a graphic artist to design your website. I have seen some charge as low as $100 for a band site. Hope this info helped. Good luck bob!

Or, you could pay Jsantos to design a site for you - his site is beautiful. 8)

hehe thanks a million 90db. I would but I just have no time between a day job, performing in the evenings, and teaching in the weekends.

I can help out with the logo design. Bob, if you need a logo, I have a good font library :)

If you have an account on CDBaby you can get on Hostbaby. I heard it was easy to create a good layout, and is pretty effective at getting traffic.

Bob,

not sure what kind of functionality you want on your site, but I've used Wix.com to create several websites for people. It's really easy to manage, looks nice and is reasonably priced. Takes a little getting used to in terms of managing the content, but when you learn the methodology, it's really simple to manage.

I have two sites on CityMax. It's $20 a month but they have a very friendly web buider and what's nice is you can sell you music directly from your website. I have two other businesses, so they wind up paying off for me.

If you want to stay cheap, Godaddy.com is the way to go.

I'd love to pay a web designer to do my site but they're either too expensive or they all are too busy. I don't have time to wait.
