I'd play in a public bathroom for 300 per, as long as I got to choose what I played and didn't have to cross genres. lol A dirty public bathroom at that!

So what should my punishment be if the new band I'm starting decides to play 2-3 cover tunes to make the set longer? Flogging? Beheading? Hanging? Electric chair? Peanut butter slapped in the ears? Jumper cable nipple shock torture? Force-fed music by Miley Cyrus?

Seriously, the suits have to realize that the clubs have no control over original bands playing a few covers. They don't read set lists. Ah hell, what I'm saying doesen't mean sh*t, the industry never compromises.

Which reminds me, I need to track the bastard down who stole my master tapes 10 years ago when no one was there. I never forgot about it. I'll just copyright em and stick it to the man. Master tapes with interest foo! Take that you record f**k.

As for your master tapes? Jesus, I keep him captive in the basement and cut off a 1/8" of his body a day, making sure he didn't die from loss of blood.

There are several original music clubs here that won't allow you to play there if you don't do 90% original music for this very reason: they don't want to pay BMI or ASCAP. You can get away with one or two covers a set but anymore than that and you will not be welcomed back.
