Ok 2 years ago i discovered i could download games for free ( i was 14) i didn't know i could get in trouble till last year which is why i stopped doing it. The last game i downloaded was "Spore" but i didn't really played it because i found it boring. Yesterday i got a letter saying that i had been caught and they said i downloaded the game June-24-2010 which i know is a lie because i haven't downloaded anything since i found out is wrong and i got my xbox 360. I downloaded that last year so i know it wasn't just now, but i'm really scared. I didn't mean to break the law and now i'm afraid they might sue my mom and is just me and her and she wouldn't afford it. Do you think they might let this one slide since i didn't really know the consequences and i stopped when i found out?

I have no idea how compassionate the law or the game company is concerning minors & theft. This is probably construed as "grand theft," though, & yeah, you probably SHOULD be scared. You didn't know it was wrong? Did you not see the PRICE? When something has a price, it usually isn't available for free. Simply because you "discovered" that you could take it doesn't mean that you SHOULD have, as you know, if your mom has done her job with your character development.

Whether you used the product you stole or not has no relevance. If you had stolen a car that you had never driven, do you think that would make a difference to the law, or to the owner of that car?

The fact remains that you stole. If you own up to it, & apologize, you'll likely have a much better chance in your dealing with the law, & your admission of guilt, & subsequent self-rehabilitation will go a long way in resolving the issue, rather than giving anyone these types of lame-assed excuses.

Part of your rehabilitation should include being honest about everything, including your age on your profile. I'm not impressed with anything you've said thus far, cuz you're starting to look like a pathological liar to me, & someone with little self-control. This type of person has a very hard time in life, & often spends a LOT of time unemployed, running from the law, & exerting WAY too much energy covering his tracks, & thus has little if any time for real personal development.

You have a lot of growing up to do. Get out there & start doing it.
