We played the OCTANE CAFE in Dangerfield Texas last night and they payed us pretty well. ( we did not ask nor expected anything ) They fed us too. Were talking home cooked meatloaf green beans and mashed taters.
Tony was too sick to sing but acted as roadie / sound man.
The acoustics were great, no reverb at all I could discern and they really wanted us to rock the house so we obliged them.
The stage was just the right size for our full rig, and they put up additional colored sound activated lighting for the show. Heck they even ran smoke
We have collected about %75 of the cash we need to complete our CD at this point so if we don't book anything for a while we will get this done as well.

We were told they wanted us to be there for the "grand opening celebration".
After our last song the crowd ( small but active ) wanted us to do "one more song". Ray asked if they wanted a soft or a loud finally and you can guess what they said. I asked the audience " does anyone have a Bick Lighter " and after repeating myself twice one gent said " I do " and handed his lighter to Tony whom brought it to me. I flicked it on held it over my head as I bumped up the volume and soak controls on my amp
then proceeded to play slide and squeal effects on my guitar with it while Steve hammered out a simple beat. I nodded to Steve-o and with just a fraction of glitch in timing we went into NOISE POLLUTION me playing my guitar with this guys lighter.
Tony was sick with a respiratory infection but said getting to watch the show from the audience perspective gave him some real insight into just what he was a part of. Ray had a cold. Steve had steel belt showing on one of his tires and made the one hour drive anyway
Eric had car trouble too and had to drive slow going and coming home.
Even I was nauseated most of the night from something I ate.
But we pulled it off and not one of them complained or hesitated.
I am understandably proud of those boyz today.
What a band !!

Thank you sir!
It was fun and I feel we gave them a good "show" but honestly I was quite disappointed in my overall performance as the guitarist and we sorely missed Tony @ the mic. :(
I want to go back and show these good people our A game.

George, sounds like a great show. Actually, I'd rather hear you guys when you are outta sorts...that defines your prfessionalism. Big deal if you can pull of a great show when everything is running perfectly. But when disease and mayhem are runnamuck but everyone manages to pull it together that is priceless.

Your band looks good. George wear that shirt to death. You probaly should get another one to replace it once it gets worn out.I noticed that guys can wear lucky clothes over and over again but if you try it as a girl, you will get dogged. When I was in the jazz band, the boys always wore the same thing over and over again. So I tried that. I had a velvet jacket that I thought was so cool. When they realized that I wore the jacket two gigs in the row, those stupid boys razzed me about it.
