Ah...ranting as an art form. I do it all the time.

Yep, some ppl are too stoopit to handle personal advertising...the bitch of it all is that they might even be pretty good musos, but their presentation puts you off so much you don't even care...

If I had bought a premium membership, I'd go to every one of them in my area & send them a form letter saying "Who the hell are you? What the hell do you do? Why the hell do you do it? When can you do it again? Would you like to do it with others?"

If they bother to respond, they may be worthwhile.

It's a free site for the most part. You get more contact freedom and larger storage space at your site if you pay, but you don't have to in order to have an account.
Any kid with delusions of being a rock star or someone whom is bored looking to be mean and ugly to people with some anonymity can join. Hell they don't even have to be musicians at all.
There are a lot of people "living in the internet".
Lord knows we get enough of them around here.
I like to visit ( a lot ) and then go back to the real world

But then I do have over 8K posts.

I really wish the did not have to count them

My rant is singers and musicians who have no audio or video clips which gives me no clue (profile pictures anyone??) of what this person sounds or looks like. This defeats the whole purpose of having a site in the first place. I feel is a waste of time on their part and mine..

This frustrates me as well, but I imagine some of the people without audio or video (like me) just dont have the equipment. I dont know how or what to do to record my stuff.( I have an old recorder, but it's a dollar store piece of sh*t.)

Idk, but I think there are people who're hesitant to do so because someone might steal their ideas/stuff. Not everyone practices good conduct especially in the Net. Just my 2 cents.

i didnt even know you could pay for this site. im just using it to try and cover as many bases as possible since 2 members had to leave for college and we need new ones. im trying to leave as much info as possible but sometimes i just so crazed with all websites i have to keep track of to remember to do certain things. Im just gonna start posting maybe a little more to stay relevant. i didnt even know there was a forum until today. lol

The best percentage you have for reaching potential players on BandMix is to be a paid member doing daily search, and messaging and having posted audio and video examples of your work.

Thought the efficiency to cost ratio is hotly debated.

My experience has been good finding players and some venues.

Actual results may vary.

Almost felt guilty here as I signed up a year ago and promptly forgot. I have pics, but haven't got the technology to get my old cassette stuff into digital. Besides..it's over 10 yrs old. I'm looking to sorta ease back into the groove, ya know? lol. I quit smoking again...so vocals are improving..but still not ready to commit to tape. lol. Would like to jam tho.
