I just mean another real musician who appreciates where you almost go when you write that music.

You know, someone within your genre.

Ie. if you ask your buddy and all he likes is hardcore, you won't be getting much help.

Collaborative effort.

I find it tough to rework old stuff. My mind-set continually goes off in new directions, which is why I work so hard to finish a piece once I start on it, cuz that original mind-set flies off in the distance, the way my butterfly-concentration works...

I have reworked older stuff, and it usually does turn out better, but the big question is why? Songs are like pages of your diary; you wouldn't go back and change what happened on Sept.13, 1984.

Yeah, jimmy, I'd really like to do that, depending on the date!

Im with Jimmy on this but from another angle.

If you put in the time to rework 4 albums worth of material, you are taking time away from doing something in the here and now. For myself Ive been writing and recording songs for close to 35 yrs now. I have a couple of pet songs that Ive done over and over, but I have very little time in my life as it is to dedicate to music so I wouldnt want to go relive all those old thoughts. If Im gonna spend time on something it will be in the here and now.

Good Luck with whatever you do SP. This is just my 2 cents.
